I have had this printer for 3 years. Suddenly it gives me an error message that the color print cartridge is not right one for this machine! It's the #95 one, always worked before....how do I eliminate the error message without replacing the pricy cartridge?

Display says "Remove and check right cartridge", but even replacing the right cartridge with a new one does not fix the problem, and the printer will not function.

This HP PSC 1610 all in one - scan / fax / copier *** printer, normally the cartridges inserting
locations might have caused some issue. When you install the genuine catridge and getting the
error. Might be the catridge inserter might be replaced with local hardware engineer is the best solution. Moreover this type of printers are HP itlsef is giving the maximum life of 3 years only as printer life time.

In our office we are using HP PSC 1110 - 4-in-1 printer and it is having the same problem, but when the message displayed, we will just say OK and it will automatically print the necessary pages.

Best of Luck always.

Remove and checl color cartridge

The problem most likely is with the electrical contact between the color cartridge and print carriage. Even if you've replaced the cartridge, if the contacts on the carriage are still dirty, it won't make a good connection with the new cartridge and the error message will still appear.

Fortunately, the HP web site has a solution posted at the following link:

Cleaning Cartridge and Print Carriage Contacts

Good luck.

Remove and check color cartridge

I cleaned mine with alcohol and Q-tip and then shook it 25 times to insure that the ink was penetrating the application lines. My hunch is it first got dirty, and then dried up on the exterior prevent additional ink from leaving the cartridge.

Wrong Black Cartridge installed error message

Use original cartridges. Nowadays some companies resort to this cheap trick wherein if you put refilled cartridges, the printer wont work, giving errors and does allow you into head alignment tool..

Best bet is to use original inks.

Remove and check color cartridge

try this. worked for me. when installing the cartridge, put one finger under the cartridge and hold upward pressure as you closed the green plastic cover. problem is the pins on the cartridge and the pins on the printer are not aligning properly by relying on the spring to do it. this will help to align the pins and should make it work.
