Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Take care in fixing it....

Your technician should be able to repair the power board.

This is depend upon the fault of the power supply, 70% rate that you're board can be fixed but it is quite comfortable to replaced the entire board. I've advice you to try a second opinion to other qualified technician to verify whether if the first tech judgement is true.

An HDMI cable is best however a set of Component cables will also work. The Component (RGB) will also carry a high def image. You will need five cables in all. The Red, Blue, Green for the video and two additional RCA cables for audio (red and white). Color match the inputs to both the DVD and the TV. Select "Video" source from the Input menu of the TV. Confirm this worked.

Main systme control PCB. its the board where all of your inputs are in.

Check you cables. make sure that the Dish Box is hooked up and if you are run'n your cables from the Dish Box to the DVD player then you will have to keep the player on.

most of these use a standard computer type cable, its shaped like a D on the end and has 3 wires. some others are shaped like an 8 and are harder to find. check any computer store, or goodwill for a cheap one
