Dark Horizontal Bands

I have a couple of dark horizontal bands on my TV screen; almost as if the camera lens has not been cleaned. This banding is not well defined as in straight lines, but is irregular. It is ovbiously most noticeable on a light background. Thanks in anticipation. Frigg.

I have the same problem 3 or 4 horizontal dark grey about 3/4 inch thick lines which show up on light backgrounds all on the right hand side of the screen.

We have had this TV for 2 years (out of warranty) and also have now got about 3 distinct horizontal 'foggy' lines on the screen. really anoying.

I have the same problem with 2 faint horizontal bands on the right hand side (one half way and one towards the top).  They are most noticeable when no input is provided on an AV Channel showing the blue screen where the dark bands are clearly visible.  During normal viewing, the bands are annoying now that I know they are there.  Despite searching the web, I have had little success in finding a solution.

My TV is 4-5 years old so may be a different JVC 26" model but the problem is the same.  Two irregular bands on the right side, one near the top and another several inches below it.  They are more pronounced against a light screen and seem to darken the longer the TV is on.  These bands showed up soon after I bought it so "aging" seems an unlikely reason for them.

I have the same problem: 1 horizontal dark grey "cloud" which shows up on light backgrounds all on the right hand side of the screen. The JVC dealer told me that the screen cannot be mended.

I also have the same problem. My TV is 4 years old. It has 1 horizontal dark grey band which show up on light backgrounds all on the right hand side of the screen. The JVC dealer told me that the problem cannot be mended.

This appears to be a design fault as I have the same problem - 3 cloudy lines, the middle one being the darker. If we all write to JVC complaining and publicising the fact that JVC dealers have no solution do you think we can get some compensation?

Looks like im not the only one with this problem after all, im getting the bands as well.

Hi, when I last posted I found that luckily I was covered by my insurance/warranty (good 5 yr cover from House of Fraser!) so we had an engineer come and check the tv.  Within seconds of seeing the tv he diagnosed the screen as duff and said it would have to be replaced.  Even more luckily, the insurance paid out for the full value of the tv to the value when we purchased it so after retiring the 'screen of inconsistency' we quickly went about finding another and we finally bought a 32" Panasonic Viera.  Again from the House of Fraser and again with a good old 5 year cover!!  It would seem with LCDs, reliability is not yet there so the correct cover is the key to a happy life!!  Good luck.

Seems that you have a factory deffective device, try to contact manufacturer or return to the store where you bought it from.

KDL 40V2500 two Dark horizontal bands on lower third of monitor

pixel thin are almost always the lcd panel. you could try opening the tv an reseating (un hook and rehook) the cables that go to the screen. there is a board at the top of the back of lcd panel that drives the video. it has connections in and out that i would reseat. if this doesn't resolve, that board could be bad but unlikely. most likely needs a new panel, sorry for the news. :(

Nikon coolpix horizontal banding

It's quite likely a manufacturer error which Nikon will fix for free. Go to http://www.nikonusa.com/email_images/nikonusa/service_advisory/coolpix.html
I just got mine back - took about five weeks because they were out of stock on the CCD (Charge Coupled Device) that they had to replace. Don't give up on the camera. It's worth having it repaired since all it will cost you is to send it to them. Have had the camera four years and it's been to Europe and the Caribbean with us.

Pictur

I have had a similar problem. Pictureres look like they are taken through a Venetial blind with white horizontal bands though I did get one with dark banding. It appears to have something to do with light levels. I took a few pics in a dark area with no flash and now it is working again...until it quits working again. Perhaps it is something to do with light level calibration? Whatever it is the problem is internal. If you are still under warranty, I highly recommend taking your camera in for repairs/replacement. Ours started acting up just after the warranty expired so no love for us.
