Hello,

To get to the BIOS for your server, press F10 at start-up. This should get you there to verify if settings are detecting SCSI devices. If they are there, you may have to reinstall the SCSI controller drivers. Good Luck.

No scsi devices detectde

Hello,

I would check 3 things here: Make sure the cable is secured to the drives and motherboard, next is the drives good? You may have to replace them. Finally, you may need to update the drivers on your system.

One more thing....make sure the BIOS is updated and has the SCSI setting correct.
Good Luck

Proliant does not boot from raid controller if external SCSI drive is powered on.

Try to disable boot to other device on your bios setting.

Make sure that your Smart Raid is set on the first boot device.

The hard drive needs to be set as the first SCSI ID device boot device..
The hard drive needs to have the jumper set to SCSI ID 0, the CD and FDD can be set to SCSI ID 1 and SCSI ID 2. No SCSI devices can have the same SCSI ID number unless it is on a different SCS controller.

Configure & install two scsi disks scsi disks in ML 150 G2

The SCSI driver is required to installed during the initial boot up for installation when additional drivers are asked .the new models dont come with a Floppy drive so an external floppy drive can be used .The detection of HDD s must be at the startup by the Bios os SCSI card.

I cant boot my server the hard drive can not be detected

Try taking the side off and removing and replacing all the hard drive leads. Remove and replace all the scsi drives and generally check for loose connections. If this does not work you will need to post more infomation.

OS Loaded on SCSI HDD Cashed

If the Bios did not detect the third drive, try switching it to a known working slot and see if you have a bad drive, or something wrong with the cage or cabling. The 3000 were shipped with either a 68 pin drive cage or a 80 pin drive cage. The 68 pin drives and the 80 pin drives are not interchangeable. To make matter worse, the drive cage would be configured as simplex or duplex. For duplex mode, you will need to connect two SCSI cables to the cage.

Problem with scsi driver proliant ml 370 for NT4

Are you attempting to boot from the Windows CD?

If you are booting the server from a Windows installation disk and it is unable to detect the hard drive, this typically means the following things.
You need to provide the driver for the RAID controller of the server (this can vary, depending on the version of the ML370 e.g. G4/G5)
If it still cannot detect the hard drive after providing the driver for the RAID controller or if there is not a driver available for NT4, it may not support the controller.
In this case you can remove the RAID set by entering the RAID setup (could be LSI or adaptec). NOTE THIS WILL DESTROY ALL DATA ON THE DISKS THAT ARE A PART OF THIS RAID SET.

There are many configuration settings, although i personally would hunt down an SCSI hard disk, many will fit from many other models just like IDE ones
