Tried refilled ink cartridges on Dell A960 printer, would not print proper alignment page. Manual alignment has no effect. Test printing goes through the entire printing process, but there isn't a drop of ink on the test page. Setting the printer maintenance for "new" and/or "old" cartridge replacement has no effect. Tried an old/near-empty color cartridge and it managed to squeeze out a couple lines of cyan test pattern. I get the feeling Dell has the printer set to deliberately ignore refilled cartridges. There are no obstructions on the contacts (which were cleaned), so there is definitely "contact" being made. Does anyone out there have a DEFINITE answer out there?

Hi,
Remove the cartridges and clean the contacts ( electrical contacts - golden colored ) with a lint free cloth and re-install them back in the printer.
Try this and check if it prints the test page.

Shawn
Have you reset the ink levels for your printer? Some printer software refers to it as that others ask if you have installed a new cartridge.
Do maintenance on the printer, such as clean heads, print test page, head alingment, etc and see if that fixes it. You can get to all these options through properties

Thanks for the indirect input...I'm aware of ink cartridges containing chips, but the cartridges for this printer appear to be chipless, hence the reason for question about whether refilled carts work period on this model of Dell printer. The contacts shine like new, so connection between the cart and the printer shouldn't be an issue. I'm seeking "inside", experienced info from someone who knows the answer to my main question.
