Hi my name is Roy, I live in Panama ^ I just installed a new 9000 quiet one pump as a sump pump for my aquarium. it is pumping water but it is all but quiet as it makes a loud racket. Can you help me with my problem

That would depend on what you want to set it up to do. For basic use, you attach an output hose or plumbing set up, perhaps a combination of flexible hose and rigid pvc, and put the output where you want the water to go. Then put the pump into water that is deep enough to keep it submerged while operating and plug it in. You may need to hold the output above the water surface where the pump is moving water to. This will allow any air in the plumbing to be pushed out - sometimes air trapped in the plumbing can prevent the water from going through the system.
If you are putting this pump into a sump - a body of water below the main aquarium, you need to be sure the pump is strong enough to pump water to the height you want it to go. The higher the water needs to go, the stronger the pump needs to be.

External aquarium pumps are very powerful pumps that pull water out of the aquarium as well as return filter water back to the aquarium. In addition, external pumps are used in order to run protein skimmers and different types of filters such as canister filters.

If you have a live rock in your aquarium, you do not need a wet-dry filter sump. This is because the live rock acts as a natural filter.

There are some skimmers who use two pumps, one for pumping water through the skimmer, one for inducing air into the water with a needle wheel. For instance the Red Sea C-Skim 1200 use two pumps.

You'll need a chiller when the ambient room temperature is higher than the desired temperature of your aquarium. This can happen due to many reasons such as:

1) If you live in a warm part of the world and decreasing the room temperature is not good enough.

2) If you wish to keep cold water species in your aquarium.

3) If you have installed heat emitting equipment that increases the water temperature such as light, pumps etc.

You should definitely go with the submerged water pump it's much quieter than the in-line water pump as a result of it been located underwater as opposed to the in-line water pump which located outside of the tank.

There are many differences between the two of them in the way they run but the main difference is the in-line water pumps run outside of water and stay dry the whole process and submerged water pumps run underwater usually in the sump of your filter.

There are a few simple steps to follow in order to changeyour aquarium's water pump:

1. 1. Turn off all electrical componentsof your tank including lights, filters, vacuums etc.
2. 2. Remove all of the fish andplace them in ample fresh water
3. 3. Remove all of thecomponents of the pump (some internal and some external, depending on yourmodel)
4. 4. Familiarize yourself withthe different parts of the water pump. Obviously, the exact installation process will vary from product toproduct
5. 5. Lay out and attach all newtubing
6. 6. Build the small pieces ofthe pump and insert them in place
7. 7. Install the filters andsump (if relevant)
8. 8. Plug in and turn on allelectrical components. Ensure thateverything is functioning before returning the fish to the aquarium
9. 9. Return the fish to the aquarium
