There is a way around the cost of calling a satellite phone. Almost all satellite networks have what is called a 2 stage dialing number, which is a local United States number that you can call from any phone, then a message comes on that asks you to enter the satellite phone number that you want to call. Once you enter the number then it will call the sat phone at no additional rates. The only thing is that the call will not be a free call to the person on the sat phone. ..but thats why they have a satellite phone anyway right? We provide all satellite phone sales, rentals, airtime, and more at NorthernAxcess.com . Feel free to contact us anytime at 877.299.9931

Calling from a satellite phone is
more expensive than calling from a cell phone or landline, but satellite phones
have global coverage and you can be in any remote are and be able to makes and
receive calls, with cell phones or landline you have limited coverage. Voice calls
from a satellite phone rates can start from $0.80 to $2.50 per minute depending
the location and type of airtime service you use. Airtime offers prepaid and
post paid plans and regional airtime cards that can give you better rates on
specific areas. Making a phone call to a
satellite phone network is often very expensive it can cost up to $15.00 per
minutes, but some airtime provider like Iridium gives you the option to use a
2-stage dialing system that you can call a local number in the United States
and be connected to a satellite phone and you only get charged for a local
phone call if you reside in the United States.

We provide the best solution for
satellite communications and carries high quality satellite phones and our
support team can assist you to find the best option for your communications
needs. You can visit our website at www.northernaxcess.com

Yes it is quite a bit more expensive to make calls with a satellite phone. receiving calls is usually free for the person with a satellite phone, but whoever is calling you will be very unhappy when they get their bill. it can cost up to 15$ per minute to call a satellite phone

Can I rent a satellite phone for a back country camping trip?

there are companies that rent out satellite phones by the day, but the minutes are very expensive so I wouldn't go making long phone calls on these phones.

What is mean by imei

The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a number, usually unique to identify GSM, WCDMA, and iDEN mobile phones, as well as some satellite phones. It is usually found printed inside the battery compartment of the phone. It can also be displayed on the screen of the phone by entering *#06# into the keypad on most phones.

I installed a hd dtv dish and only get 2 of the sats. all instructions are exact as to on screen settings, and sight is clear, what's up?

I would try rebooting the entire system to make it do a new search for satellites. i am a service and repair tecnician for mainly iridium satellite phones, and mobile Satellite terminals, such as iridium 9505, 9505A, 9500, and 9555 models, or the Thrane & thrane Explorer 300, 500, and 700 model satellite modems. My jet does not detect any satellite even if i am in a open space. Can some one help?

hello. Satellite signal is a little more complicated than regular cell signal. Make sure that you are not in a canyon, of that there is no shade of trees, tall buildings, under an awning, or anythwhere where there might be obstructions. Also try turning the phone off, and then turning it on when you get outside, so that it aquires fresh signal. You may also see about getting an external antenna. These have a broader range. If you are ever i nterested in getting an actual Satellite Phone, or renting one, visit our website, or call us at BlueCosmo.Com, or 877-258-3496.
