Turns on recognizes kettle and button works to select boil but then clicks and nothing happens although red light stays on saying kettle is trying to boil

There's several home remedies you can try: Try 50% "White Vinegar", 50% Hot Water or 2 Denture tablets in warm water over night or Baking soda in warm water. These remove the alkaline, minerals, and nitrates that build up on the surface. There is even a commercial product you can use to clean it. I can't recall the name but look in any supermarket, you should be able to locate it.

There is no do it yourself fix for this problem. However, placing a folded cloth on top of the kettle (covering the spout) will cause it to switch off quicker, as it increases the pressure inside the kettle.

there is a 1 year warranty on this unit.
