If the compressor isn't running, the refrigerator or freezer won't cool - period. Hopefully, by now, you've had a repair technician come and troubleshoot the problem.
Hi,
Yes, If the evaporator was not frozen over then I agree with you. The unit has lost its refrigerant charge. The only thing you can do is to have a licensed refrigeration man find the leak, repair it and recharge it or replace the refrigerator. If the evaporator is frozen over the defrost timer would be the problem. In this case, manually defrost it and it will be good for a few days until you get it replaced.

looks as evaporator fan is working. have you ever clean condensor under the fridge. possibility it is pluged with dust and not allowing compressor to cool down. Also check the fan at the back of the fridge beside the compressor. see if it is working
Your indications does not make sense! Your unit has ONE compressor that uses ONE evaporator coil to cool both sides. So if the FREEZER side is not cooling the fridge side should not cool either! Are you sure you don't have the freezer and refrigerator sides reversed?
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out thelast two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...

check out the refrierator defrost sensor for the refrigerator side. the connection may not be making a good contact. open up the refrigerator evap section and behind the lights for the crisper is the connections. be carefull because the evap may be frozen up and the styrofoam wil break if its frozen up. thaw it out first with a shop vac blowing air out.
