You most likely have a faulty hard drive, especially if it is making a clicking sound.
You wil need to purchase a new hard drive and install Windows again with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

Hi,
Usually in disk read errors are because of bad HDD.
So get it checked by the service center so that the issue could be fixed.

Toshiba satellite a135 s2386 will not turn on

Remove the battery and leave it for ten minutes. Refit and if there is any charge in it ,it should turn on. If when plugged into the charger it still will not turn on then either your charger is faulty or the dc jack in the laptop has a bad joint on it.

Hi. Every time I turn my Toshiba Satellite Laptop on (A305-S6905) it turns on normal then it goes to this black screen and says "A disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart." I...

The disk read error message appears when the motherboard can't read what is in the hard disk and use it to launch the Windows boot process.
It means that the hard disk is dead and everything on it is lost, including the recovery partition that new laptops use instead of the recovery disks. You will have to replace the hard disk (a quite complicated job that only an experienced person should do) then order a recovery disk from here

and use it to reinstall Windows.

Wont boot up says a disk read error occurred. press ctrl alt del to restart. i do this and the same message comes up

Hello,

your operating system files is corrupt, that's why your computer is showing you that message.Your computer cannot but except the it is repaired.

To repair your windows, you will need the Cd that came with your computer, that's what you will be needing in other to repair your system.

Also, you can still boot your system by booting in safe mode. To boot in safe mode, restart your computer and immediately, keep pressing "F8" on your keyboard, a black screen will come up and you will see a booting option, scroll to safe mode and press enter.

Once your system boots up in safe mode, you can restart your system and the problem might be solved.

Take care.

Inverter probably, but try removing the bezel and check wiring to the inverter and from the screen to the laptop

Somebody got into the bios and entered either a hard drive or a bios password. You will have to know which one it is.

TOSHIBA A135-S2386- I HAVE AN ERROR WHEN TURNING ON MY LAPTOP

If there is anything on the hard drive worth saving, I would remove it right away and buy an external hard drive enclosure and connect it to another computer and pull all of the important files off of it. Although it might not be readable, if the hard drive has failed.

If you don't care about anything on the hard drive. Then and only then would I attempt to format it. Many ways to do this. With the Recovery Disc (which comes with many computers), a Microsoft Windows install disc, BartPE disc (free), Linux Live CD (free), etc.

Just let us know what OS (operating system) you want to put back on this computer and how you want to do this. And what kind of Windows install disc that you have (i.e. Recovery, MS Windows, etc.). And if you have access to another computer with Windows XP and a CD burner.

And right now, it does sound like your hard drive has failed. And if reformatting and reinstalling isn't going to work if this is true.
