No sound from ringtones when the phone rings or when trying to set a ringtone, alarm doesn't work either

  • SB30 Dec 06, 2007

I am also not able to hear any sounds on my phone. Not set to silent or vibrate.

I noticed that there was a solution to this problem listed as "software" issues or problem. Is there any way to find out what that software problem was to see if it would work for the rest of us?? OR anything else that would work. The problem seems to come and go for me. Sometimes there will be sound and sometimes not. Right now there's no sound and it's very frustrating!!!

I have this SAME issue. Has anyone found a solution?

  • Anonymous Dec 13, 2007

brought it into ATAT and they tried everything they could, and said it's in the phone.

    no soun when is ringing

  • DWales Dec 14, 2008

Same deal here - worked for over a year (verizon purchase 2007) and now I have no ring sound, no music sound, nada. What is this software problem one of you noted? Or is it a problem with the external speaker? Seems to be happening with most Krzr's across the web.

I called Verizon Wireless and the said, if you go to “My Sounds” or “My Ringtones” select the song that you want to hear and press the play button. While the ringtone is playing press the button on the side of the phone to raise the volume…you should be able to hear the ringtone. Hope this helps!

Tracfone customer service

  1. Check a ringer volume and profile. Press a volume key to see the volume status bar at the top of the screen. Use the volume up and volume down keys to adjust the loudness of the ringer (scale 0 to 30). Tap on the text next to the ringer icon to change the profile (vibrate only, ring+vibrate).
  2. Check if the issue is with a specific ringtone: Go to Settings > ringtones+sounds > Ringtone, and tap on a playbutton to preview the ringtone.
  3. Switch off the ringer vibration (Settings > ringtones+sound > vibrate) temporary, to determine if your phone is affected by any motion settings i.e. Flip-to-Silence.
  4. Make sure that call forwarding is not switched on: Tap the phone icon > ... > Settings.
If the problem persists, restart your phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down keys simultaneously until the phone vibrates. Release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to re-adjust the volume and set date+time on the phone. Note that this does not remove your personal content.

My iphne 3 will only vibrate but not ring

If you're missing incoming phone calls due to your iPhone not ringing, you may have accidentally switched the ringer to vibrate or silent, according to Apple. The switch on the left side of the iPhone turns off the ringer and usually sets your phone to vibrate mode, but if your iPhone's vibrate setting is also disabled the phone will instead be set to silent mode. When in the phone's sound settings vibrate mode can be enabled, and the ringer volume of your phone is adjustable.

Hello,

The problem you are experiencing is that your ringer/speaker is faulty,

The ringer/speaker is what sounds out when your phone is called or you receive a text message

The only solution is to have it changed
