The check engine light is on my 09 Santa fei. I had it checked and its showing Canister close valve. Replaced, just drove 1500 km, the light back on; went back scaned again, still the same code. wh

I put lots of miles on the car, approx. 50 k a year. First I took it to the deal. It took them over 4 hours doing smooking test, but can't find any problems. I took it to MIDAS. They have scaned several times before and after I replaced the Canister close valve. Nobody can figure out where is leaking. Can anybody help?

SOURCE: check engine light on after

You have a leak in the fuel system somewhere or a bad evaporative system sensor, the way the system works is the control module for the emission system pulls a vacuum on the gas tank and lines to check for leaks, if it can't get a certain vacuum level for a specified time it decides there is a leak and the check engine light comes on. This may be covered under the Federal Emissions warranty, call the dealer and inquire if the Evap System is covered.

SOURCE: Car stalled and won't start again

Sounds like it might be either the fuel filter or the fuel pump, cause if you ran the tank down, you probably had sludge in the bottom of the tank that you sucked into the engine, you can try using a fuel system cleaner, you may have sucked sludge into the injectors running it, Zmax sells a fuel system cleaner, or there is one called RUN RIGHT, I would try putting some of that in letting it sit a few min then after it sat a few to soak in and break down the sludge, then start the car up, kick your idle up to around 1500 RPM do not go higher then that cause you will damage the engine, try that and see if that works for you, if not then I is probably the fuel pump or filter.
hope this helps.

SOURCE: CIL on, code P0441, using more gas, hard to fill up

In the first place, P0441 = Evap. Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow. The 'CANISTER CLOSE VALVE' you mention is normally OPEN until the ECU (Engine Control Module) decides to check the fuel system for any leakage - IT closes the valve and then applies a vacuum to the system and monitors it for leakage. This valve (CCV), if sticking CLOSED, only MIGHT set P0441. The most suspect component is the Purge Control Solenoid Valve (located on/near the engine) and is also controlled by the ECU. If this valve is malfunctioning, it can absolutely cause this P0441 to SET!... There is also another component which can CAUSE this code to SET... it's the Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS) or Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (FTPS) connected to the Evaporative Emissions System. It is this component which monitors 'vacuum' pressure on the system to determine if there is any leakage.. its signal is also used by the ECU to monitor 'purge' of the charcoal canister under normal driving conditions. There is yet another component which can cause the ECU to set P0441.. and that is a restriction in the 'purge' circuit.. clogged charcoal canister, air filter, or a kink in the Evap hose(s).

'07 Sebring failed emissions test twice

There are a lot of issues with this error. Some people are finding that the ecm (main computer) needs to be replaced from corrosion. Others are finding that the ECM can be flashed to another year to fix it. Some are finding corrosion on the connectios. There is a lot of info about it on this page: http://www.sebringclub.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=11337

code p0441 refers to evaporative emission EVAP system-incorrect flow detected===causes hose connections--intake leak---EVAP canister purge valve
Po144 refers to the same fault and causes
Po446 refers to EVAP system--vent control-circuit malfunction===causes --wiring---EVAP canister purge valve---ECM In all cases codes the canister purge valve gets a mention and then the ECM. I would take it back and ask that the canister purge valve be changed or even ask for a new canister as there are occasions when filling the tank to the filler hole will induce fuel into the canister causing it to malfunction.

My 2002 Hyundai Santa FE 2.7 engine dies every time I gas up. It runs fine the rest of the time. So far I have replaced the fuel pump and vent valve. It still stalls. What could the problem be>

The evaporative emissions system consists of 5 major components
1. CCV - Canister Close Valve
2. Charcoal Canister & filter
3. Purge Contro Solenoid Valve (PCSV)
4. Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)
5. Fuel Cap

Based on my experience, you have a PCSV which is sticking OPEN and constantly applying a vacuum to the charcoal canister. When you fill up, the fuel vapors which were absorbed by the charcoal are being constantly/continually sucked into the engine intake manifold causing an excessive 'RICH' mixture of fuel-to-air.

Check engine light on.Took truck to checkers and it was put on scope and results came back with EVAP canister broke, and purge or vent solenoid defective and vacuum leak at engine also failed tcc or...

The codes you are getting can be caused by one of the several parts to the canister purge valve. It would best be taken to a mechanic or you may be replacing parts that you don't need. Normally the evap canister purge valve has stuck or broken or disconnected.

2002 Santa Fe 2.7 V6 (California Car) 260,000 + miles. Engine idle will increase to about 1500 RPM and drop back to normal without notice, at times difficult to start (must hold throttle about half open)...

I faulty Idle Air Control valve (IAC) can cause these specific symptoms. You could try diconnecting the IAC valve (usually near the throttle body) and regulating the idle yourself. If the fluctuations go away and you are able to hold a constant idle position with the gas pedal (if vehicle will start), the IAC is the problem.

2001 Hyundai Santa Fe Error codes BB1,BB2,BB3, BBevap,BBsolenoid. Check engine light is on.

EVAP system is a very COMPLEX system. There is not enough time or space here to adequately diagnose your problem. Components involved are Canister Close Valve, Charcoal Canister, Canister Filter, Purge Contro Solenoid Valve, Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, EVAP tubes & hoses, Fuel Pump Gasket, fuel tank itself, check valves, Electrical Wiring to and from the ECM and components. Best solution: Pay diagnistic fee and have professionals diagnose problem. This way you'll know EXACTLY what the problem is and what's required to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.).

Error code p0442

EVAP Emission Control System - Small Leak Detected (1.0 mm). This code can be set when 1. fuel filler cap is not completely tight, 2. when various hoses get punctured or the canister close valve does not seal completely, 3. there is an actual leak in the charcoal canister, fuel tank, or other EVAP system component, 4. if any one of these components are malfunction (a), fuel tank pressure sensor, (b) purge control solenoid valve, (c) canister close valve, or (d) fuel cap. An engine vacuum leak would not set this code.
Solution: Take the vehicle to a Hyundai Dealership for proper diagnosis/repair.
