Yahoo not respondimng very slow to open cam

Question edited for clarity and toss in some CAPS.

It is a well known issue.

If you find your Mac is running slowly, there are a number of potential causes that you can check. Your computer's startup disk may not have enough free disk space. To make disk space available, you can move files to another disk or an external storage device, then delete files you no longer need on the startup disk.

Which version r u using? 8 or 9 beta?

1.for 9 beta:
*Can you see your cam clearly? I mean no black screen.
If your web-cam is having black screen, then you have to set it.
On main messenger screen:
click messenger
click connection
tick "connect directly to the internet"
click apply and ok.
Then open your cam and check if it working or not.

First, please check your connectivity settings within Yahoo! Messenger to make sure you're not connecting through a proxy server. Here's how:

Select " Yahoo! Messenger."
Select "Preferences."
Select "Connection."
Select "No Proxies."
Click "OK."
Close Yahoo! Messenger completely and start the program again. This should eliminate the error message.

I know they say macs are self maintained but they get stuff built up on them and need cleaning. Try cleaning up a little.

it is just part of the glitch in Yahoo!'s new format.
Server Farm incompatibility is usually the problem.
Thousands are having many different problems with their e-mail.
This applies to almost all areas of mail (including signing in, composing, receiving, sending, attachments, photos, etc.), original and beta mail, messenger and search problems. I have been sent mail that is dated as far back as 8 days. But I do get it!!! The same thing applies to their recieving my mail, for the last few weeks.
Yahoo! is wrapping up a few remaining compatibility issues between Yahoo! Mail Beta (beta testing lasts for at least 6 months!!!) and the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.
1. You will have less problems with original mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger.
2. Or if you don't have Yahoo Messenger:
Beta wouldn't let me in so I went to beta help and it said to click on my toolbar mail icon. So I did and it worked!
3. Or if you don't have beta mail:
http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/ can be used to sign into Yahoo!, then put yahoo back into the address bar and hit go. It will take you back to Yahoo! and you can open mail normally. Otherwise, you can open mail in wap, but it is blind. I had to go through wap each time I logged in.
4. BETA means TESTING!!!
So, it seems we have to stop using these two programs (if you installed them) or try to work around them until they finish wrapping things up. Your IE6 is still installed, so you just have to go to: Start, settings/control panel, add/remove programs and delete IE7. For Beta mail you only have to use the switch back option located in your mail inbox.Also, where you sign in by clicking on: Are you having trouble?. You can keep trying them periodically!

uninstall service pack3 and roll back to service pack 2 there is a compatibility issue that microsoft no longer wants to address or add in there beta ie8 there not including some programs in service pack 3 i just read up on service pack 3 when the book came to my home as a beta tester to check compatibility of some programs
