WILL T21 SELECT OIL WORK IN A MODEL 2475

The solution was easier than I expected. Ingersoll Rand "Select" oil is a synthetic oil recommended by Ingersoll as better than mineral oil. T30 (mdl 2475) and T21 are different styles of compressors. So, yes "select" oil can be used in the Model 2475 compressor.

Model 2545 compressor getting toomuch carbon deposit in side the cylinder

You can try switching to a full synthetic compressor oil to alleviate the problem.

Carbon is caused by the over heating of oil. Your problem is most likely an undersized compressor, or worn valves and piston rings.
Regardless of the problem synthetic compressor oil will help.

Hope that helps,

What type of oil for ingersoll rand model 2475 air compressor could not find specs at Rand website

Ingersoll Rand likes you to buy their all season select oil for their air compressors, most piston air compressors use an R+O 100 oil it is equivalent to n SAE 30 wt oil.

WHAT TYPE OF OIL CAN I USE IN MY TYPE 30 COMPRESSOR

I am sure Ingersoll Rand would like you to use there all season select synthetic oil, or you can use a good quality R+O 100 oil, also known as SAE30 non detergent. do not use cheap oil for gas engines,,, buy a good name brand from a regular oil distributor, and specify yo are using it for an air compressor. and most manufactures will recommend you change it every 3 months.
