No files notification

I can't play the mp3 files on the player. When I switch to MUSIC MODE, I get "NO FILES". When DFP-200 is plugged to the computer, the files are visible and manageable and playable from the folder in the player, it's just when I want to play them, I can't see them there. I've tried to load them both to the root directory or from the folders created on computer, but there's always the message PLAYLIST EMPTY. PLease, some suggestions!

Windows Update from last year killed this player. The company is out of the mp3 business, so there is no way to fix this issue. You could try reformatting the player:
Ensure the Digital Audio Player is ON.
Use the supplied USB cable to connect between Digital Audio Player
and PC.
Double click My Computer icon on the desktop. You can find a
"Removable Disk" is added to your computer.
Right click on the Removable Disk then select Format.
Select FAT

This player cannot play mp4 files only mp3 files. When the files are copied to the MP3 player the computer can play the mp4 files from the MP3 player but when you play these mp4 files straight from the MP3 Go Gear it cannot see or play these files.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Can't delete folders. response is devise not responding

to delete files there are 2 ways to do this.(1) first is with the on and facing you. on top the is the black menu switch. (2)hold down until it reads play music, and release (3) cycle either way until it reads delete.(4) cycle the switch until it reads del / push switch in (5) cycle to voice (6) push switch in to delete files. (cycle to exit and push switch again it should go to your music.

Second way is to plug it into a computer with plug and play.with the Trio MP3 on, the computer should open up a menu, chose open files (2) the screen should have music, voice and other files on the display. chose the voice file and click it open. use the mouse to delete files / or point and use the key board delete key to delete files. IF PLUG and Play does not open up goto MY Computer and openit up. drop down to the removeable disk and click open. you should be where you can delete the voice file. good luck and have fun.

Verge MP3 : No files notification

There is a tiny pinhole next to the usb port - try resetting the device - if it still fails, you are out of luck - I think it has more to do with having Windows Media Player 11 on your computer than SP2. The computer wants to treat it as an MTP device, and this older player cannot do that. The company has long been out of the business.

Not playing music

No Music Files Problem solved
Plug the MP3 player to PC
In Windows XP open Windows Explorer and navigate to one of the music files
Try to play the file in Windows
If it fails, unplug player and once the player switches off carry out a reset
Reconnect player to PC and repeat the process described above
You may need to repeat this several times until the music file plays in Windows.
After this format the player using Windows XP
Select the removable hard drive, right click and select format
Choose Fat32, enter a volume label (for example GMP33005) and select quick format
If formatting fails try several times
Once format is succesfull reload your music files using the software that came with the player
Be careful not to exceed 2.5 or 2.6 GB (leave some free space as this might be needed for the player to work)
The player should now play the music files correctly

Music files

Hi. I hope this info would help: Your Sansa E260 has 2 modes: MTP (Music Transfer Protocol) and MSC (Mass Storage Class). Your Operating System recognizes each mode differently, and music files saved in one mode would not be seen when you switch to the other mode, and vice versa. Try switching to each of these modes, then plug it to your computer and browse the player. To switch modes, use the following menu navigation: Menu >> Settings >> USB Mode This would give the choice of MTP and MSC.
