I have a Sansa e250 but i lost the cd with the software on it. I forgot how to put music onto it, do i have to convert it first? Please help!

Hello,

All support for Sansa e200 players can be found here:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4487/session/L3NpZC92WmxVWmRZag%3D%3D/sno/0#e200
Music transfers can be done, connected with the provided USB cable in 2 modes:

MTP = Media Transfer Protocol, when using a software program or Windows Media Player (10 or higher). In WMP10 or 11 select Library or Sync to create playlists and synchronize the playlists with the player.

MSC = Mass Storage Class, when using Windows explorer, viewing the player as a removable disk. Perform "copy and paste" or "drag and drop" actions onto the external USB device (drive letter memory with 2GB capacity).

For pictures and video use software program Sansa Media Converter on the computer. After conversion in SMC transfer media onto the player.

Use the Sansa Media Converter for video files - if you have lost your CD, download the program from Sandisk's website.

Video converter

The converter can only handle a few types of movie and picture files, anything else and it has a fit. Oddly enough, the converter can't do anything with .mov files.

E250 sandisk

If you are using windows xp or vista you do not need any cd's to use the sansa. Simply plug it into your usb port and windows will see it. If you look at the icon next to your clock in the lower right corner of your computer, you should see that a usb device has been plugged in. The next thing to do is go into windows explorer or "My Computer" and look for new drives. those would be the drives on the sansa. probably drive letters e or f. if you have an additional memory card installed in the sansa you will see both. next copy the mp3's into the drives of your sansa. when you unplug the sansa, start it up and go into the music section of the sansa menu. you should see anything that you moved over.
if this has not been helpful or you do not have any luck seeing the additional drives, let me know what your operating system is and we can go from there.
good luck

Lost driver

The disk had Rhapsody and / or Best Buy Software and Sansa Media Converter. Which can be downloaded from www.Rhapsody.com and the Sansa media Converter is here; http://www.sandiskthailand.com/images/SansaMediaConverter.zip It did not contain any drivers. As long as you have Windows XP / SP2, and Windows Media Player 10 or higher, you will not need anything off of the disk. Best of Luck.

Bought refurb

The drivers necessary are part of Windows Media player 10, or higher. As long as you have Windows XP / SP2, or Vista and Windows Media Player, your device will work with your computer.
