Life fitness 95t speeds up after confirming slower speed in cool down mode, and also pauses after touching increase button on screen. both issues are dangerous

This has happened to other people in the gym on other lifestyle 95T's. and was one person was thrown off the treadmill, and injured. also, speed decrease " buttons" did not work to slow down treadmill once it increased speed. i.e. from 2.5 to 6 mph instantly, like it had a mind of its own. finally, the stop button worked. is it software? or touch screen issues ? or both?

SOURCE: The Nordic Track machine's controls seem to be

Remove the console from the treadmill and remove the back
remove and replace the ribbon cables that run from the keypads to the control board (they are flat plastic strips that push into the board).
remove and replace all the connections on the console
reattach the console and calibrate by doing the following:
1. With the key off press the speed + and stop buttons at the same time and hold
2. place the key on and release the buttons
3. press the stop key once
4. press the speed up til it reaches 85
5. if your max speed is 10 mph then it should read about 9.8-10.2

If the keys will not work then the console is bad and would need replaced.

SOURCE: My treadmill will start and you can increase speed

I'm not sure if this will help.

First I was unable to identiy your model. Star Trac makes 'S Series' treadmills and Pro Tread DC (5500 Pro S model) treadmills. Can you be more specific on your model?

Second. I have used Star Trac customer service in the past and they are the best. They are responsive, and knowledgeable, and will provide troubleshooting flowcharts to help you solve your problem. I highly recommend giving them a call.

Hope this helps,
Kurt

SOURCE: the speed arrow. when I

Hi,

I will advice you try re-calibrate your treadmill, follow the procedure below to re-calibrate it,

Step 1 Stand on the side rails of the treadmill for safety purposes. Remove the safety key. Step 2 Press and hold the two incline buttons. The incline buttons are blue and on the left side of the display. Hold the up and down button simultaneously. Release the buttons when the display reads "Calibration."
Step 3 Press the green start button located either above or below the large, red stop button (depending on your model). Stay on the side rails as the treadmill belt begins to move. Both the speed and incline should go through their full range from lowest to highest, and then back down again.
Step 4 Repeat the process if the display does not read "Calibration Successful.

Give this a try....go to Sportsmith.net and/or google Service Menu Life Fitness 95Ti. Once in the service menu, there should be an entry for the user to select Miles or Km.
It mentions pressing/holding the Pause Button until the Service menu appears on the display. Good Luck!

The term immobilize is on the display panel and I want to start it up. How do I get it going again?

When necessary to immobilize the treadmill, set display to read SELECT A WORKOUT. (Press the STOP Key
twice if not already there). Then hold down the SPEED DOWN Key and press the STOP Key. The treadmill
now displays IMMOBILIZED. In this state, the treadmill cannot be operated. The main motor and incline are
disabled. The treadmill will remain in this state across resets, power cycles, etc. To restore normal operation,
repeat the same key sequence: hold down the SPEED DOWN Key and press the STOP Key. The treadmill will
display SELECT A WORKOUT again.

Life fitness 95t speeds up in cool down

This sounds like a motor control board issue. In my experience I have seen it either speed up when it is supposed to slow down or you will get a pulsating or lunging type action in the running belt. There are companies available that can test and repair said board for a fraction of the price. You might check with Carolina Technical Services LifeFitness motor controller repair

Speed

I assume by "last longer" you mean more record/play time.  The slp mode is the slower tape speed, which means longer record/play time.  The trade-off with the slower speed is poorer video quality.

As regards tape life, if this is what you mean- I don't know- tape life is often a matter of the quality of the tape itself.
