We have a Viking DFUD142 (DW20.3) that is 5 years old and it has never drained properly. We followed all the directions to the letter and we can't figure out what to do next. There is also a ter

We made sure that the drain pipe is unobstructed going from the pump to the drain pipes. It has a loop that is within the 20" minimum, 35" maximum off the floor. We used the factory supplied drain hose and it is not kinked.

SOURCE: My Viking dishwasher (~2 yrs old) won't complete a

if is continueously running because the unit is trying to get rid of the water in this instance shut off the water and shut off the electrical breaker disconnect the drain hose and assure that there is nothing blocking the end of the hose that goes to your sink or garbage disposal if this is clear you would de install the unit and pull the whole unit outward. you would then follow that same drain line to its oppisite end and check for any obstrcutions there as well if there are not you would try to disassemlbe the drain pump which will definetly make the water come out of the machine when you do this so you may want to use a shop vac to empty the water down the bottom of the machine before taking off the drain pump you can actually do a bench test on the drain pump or you can leave the pump inside of the machine after you assure that nothing is blocking the impellar of the pump and hit the cancel button or set the unit to drain depending on which you have controls are differnt in some models if the pump doesnt turn on then you would replace the pump if it does you would then to the inside of the machine and do a continuity test on the float switch to assure this is working properly and the float is not jammed in a position run these tests and checks and message me back with your finds and please remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in the future Thanks Rick

DFUD142 Dishwasher. Plastic clips holding Cutlery/Utensil Cradle sliding tray have broken. Looking for new clips or an alternative solution. Thanks

Hello, welcome to fixya

Here's what works for me, take the lower basket out and set it aside to give yourself a more work friendly environment. Now move the rack stops to the left if you haven't already and then the rack itself...example

and

cb82cce.jpg

Now you'll need to remove the bumpers at the back of the rack rail, example...

push down on the bumper as shown

a6e3c04.jpg

and pull it down and out at the same time...it takes some force, you can use a small screwdriver.

045c1a4.jpg

Now you'll need to slide the rail all the way out as shown, but careful not to let the ball bearings fall into the sump area in the process.

I usually hold the broken piece in place while removing the rail...

...( they come in a kit at "repairclinic.com" under number 1394379 like shown here individual holders # 8058638-77 from the link I pasted below at allvikingparts )

http://www.allvikingparts.com/Guide_Rail_Ball_Holder_p/pd110003.htm

The trick now is to install the balls into the holders first

9177d05.jpg

and the holders into the stationary part of the rail on the inside wall...

9c58331.jpg

The inside wall rail will keep the holders in place as you slide the inside rail into place...this will usually require holding the holder with one hand while pushing the sliding rail back into place...

Once this is done, re-install the back rail bumpers followed by the rack and then finally the front rack stoppers and that should do it.

Hope that explain it for you or gives you an idea of how it needs to be done. Please take a moment to rate the assistance I provided here today favorable and a brief testimony is also appreciated when providing free solutions.

Thanks for visiting "fixya" today for your repair help and good luck. Let me know if you require further assistance.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

P.S.

I should also mention you as I alluded to, be sure none of the old 8 ball bearings didn't fall down into either the drain pump or circulation/wash pump. This is something I've seen far too often on Asko dishwashers with the end result being a broken impeller in either pump...or both, yikes ! I use a telescopic magnet to fish around as it will be the only object made of metal...unless something else has fallen in the sump well area, it's good to check.

My viking professional dishwasher cleaned everything perfectly, crystal clear glassware for the first year, now everything is "milky" or has a residual left on it. What do I need to do?

make sure the drain line is clear including air gap also filters and spray arms! Get Lemi-Shine and follow the directions on the product on how to clean and maintain your dishwasher with it.

Quote from Local Vendor

depends on what he is required to do to gain access to the control panel. if you are handy with tools and are comfortable doing the repair... buy the part and replace it yourself.
