Copier feature of HP Officejet Pro K550 Series produces a print page that appears to be a combination of color and the page contains this image on the entire paper surface

The copier function has always performed well. I used a thick colored paper stock and my image to be copied is black and white. One copy was produced correctly, but then the image became a solid (8x10) mass of vertical streaky lines. Lines appeared to be a combination of black and purple. All copies made after the first one resulted in this problem. Even when the supply tray was filled with white stock this bizarre result continued. It is only the copier feature, Print sent to the printer from my pc prints fine.

SOURCE: two black vertical lines appear on copy, pdf, and scan results

  1. Unplug the power cord and the phone line from the wall.
  2. Open the control panel.
  3. Pull the roller lever forward, and then lift the white roller out of the All-In-One.
  4. Note: The scan lens is located under the white roller.
  5. Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with water to wipe the white roller and the scan lens.
  6. Reinstall the white roller.
  7. Reconnect the power cord and the phone line.
  8. And then try to copy if get the dame line then its the hardware problem in the printer you must need to replace the scanner unit in the printer ..
Good luck..

My HPOfficejet Pro K550 will not print checks correctly

Hi crys smith -

for future refs: if the paper type and size (in this case checks) is set up correctly in the software that you are using to create the checks, perhaps it would help to check the printer settings. this link at hp support might help you then:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00494598&dlc=en&product=501369

it includes checking and changing print settings and stopping a print job. (-and no one wants to waste checks!) -JW50

Only prints one page

You could try using these drivers on the Hp.com. These drivers were from March of 2007.

This was listed at Officejet K550. They didn't have a Pro Printer listed. If there are any letters after the model number you should go to that page instead.
