How do unmute audio on camera

There are 2 ways to mute or un-mute the mic:

1. Push the button on the front of the mic
   
2. On the computer, open Recording Properties and go to the Levels tab and click the speaker icon next to Microphone slider.

On the Nintendo DSi Menu, use the stylus to select the Settings ("wrench") icon. Now Adjust Your Audio And Mic Setting From There. You Can Mute, Unmute or adjust the sound volume you feel best.

In sound system preferences when the external mic is plugged in, there is a drop down menu in the input tab that says "Use the audio port for:" make sure it says input.

Looks like problem is on your side. This is may due to a faulty microphone on your phone or Mic is set to be on mute.


1. Please check that nothing is clotted on Microphone. This is a small hole on bottom side of your phone.
2. Please check that other party can hear you when you're using a Hands-free / Bluetooth ear phones with mic on it. If they can hear you, when you use a hands-free, problem is with your phone's on-board microphone.
3. You can also check that, while on a call, your mic is not set on Mute. This can be done as on call, select Options , look for Mute / Unmute. If Unmute is present, select it unmute the mic.
4. You can use Mute button Provided on the top side of the phone. While on the call, press this button to Mute / Unmute the mic. If the mic is set to Mute mode, other party won't hear any sound from you.


Hope this will solve the issue.

I think this camera has manual audio control.
Use the menu system and set the audio to manual then turn down the audio completely.
Another option is to place a microphone jack into the external mic socket without a mic attached. This will mute the onboard mic.

It is the settings that matter. Go to the Volume icon in the system tray in right bottom corner and you will find MIC in the box that opens. Please unmute the mic and also reduce the volume for the mic. It is high volume here that is producing the screech and muted mic that does not send your speech. So do the needful here. Somehow Windows is in a habit of muting the mic on its own. Keep checking it once in a while.

Click open the volume icon in the system tray in the right bottom corner of the screen. There you will find an icon for mic. It must be muted now. Just click on its box to unmute it. And you will be heard through the mic.

You have to switch the CH1 and CH2 switches inside the lcd display to input 1 or input 2 to control the xlr inputs. If these switches are in int (L) and int(R) position, then you are adjusting the audio on the CH1 ad CH2 dials below the lcd viewer on the outside of the lcd for the on camera mic. Only use line setting on the front of the camera when you are receiving an audio feed at line level from an audio board. If you set the camera to mic setting, and you are receiving a line level audio signal, you will blow out the audio 0 way too loud, if you are receiving a mic signal and your switch is set to line, you will not be able to hear the mic with the audio Ch1 and ch2 all the way up.

From the "ThinkPad Online User's Guide" that came with my 600E: "Note: To use the input jack for an external stereo line-in device, you need to disable the microphone function with the software on your operating system. For example in Windows 98, you can disable the function by putting a check mark in the check box of Mute for MIC in the "Master Out" window. To use the jack for a manual microphone, disable the line-in function with the software."

Make sure you don't have a program that auto mutes your mic. Possibilities are audio mixers, live messenger, etc.
