46 inch LG HD flat screen TV the speakers seem to have a slight vibration that distorts the voices. It does not occur with every word but often enough to be a pain.
I have this problem with my 37LG30.
They all seem to have the same factory flaw.
The plastic bezel and rear is vibrating against itself I have found.
Tonight, just now, I just took all the front bezel screws out,(from the back) loosened the other 4 big screws in the rear center(I don't recommend removing them)and loosened the stand screws also and tried separating the bezel from the back as I went around the set. This did not really help much except around the bottom where the noise/vibrating comes from-the speaker area.
The two plastic pieces are vibrating against one another.
The vibrating was coming from the speaker area without doubt.
The next thing was to try separating at the bottom where the speakers are with my fingers and a stiff metal nail file carefully..fingers seemed to work best for me.
As I separated the front bezel from the rear housing (at the speaker location)most if not all the buzzing/vibrating /distortion went away.
I then inserted small pieces of cotton (you can use felt, or similar I suppose) and buttoned it all back up;put the screws in
Almost all the distortion and speaker buzz/vibratingis gone except on very low frequencies.

How to stop LG tv speakers vibrating?
It's not as simple as it sounds is it because the cabinet is supposed to resonate by design. I have a workaround which works for my set
If you think about it, the Cinema default EQ setting already increases Bass at default from flat.
Then if you consider SRS Trusurround also adds Bass too therefore You're already going to give the tiny tv speakers a good going over even at relatively low volumes.
Couple that with Freesat (which on my set is louder than all the other inputs) and then throw in BBC HD which has decent audio and it's probably no wonder it's crying at me with this vibration/buzzing.
So what I've done is tweaked the Cinema setting as follows:
SRS Trusurround : on (widens the soundstage nicely with these below on mine).
Auto volume: off
80hz = (0)
220hz = (-1)
470hz = (0)
1khz = -(1)
2.2khz= (1)
4.7khz(1)
12khz= (1)
I appreciate different room sizes/environments etc, but I honestly have it at 40 volume for the first time with no distortion. It's also giving me decent levels of bass and treble after trying in addition to BBC HD, Clubland tv, FIVE to give me the broadest samples of broadcast content/sound levels.

Jun 26, 2010 - by chrisbalmer - update to my previous post. I added "acoustifeet" (I chose the firm variety- link at end of post) to the rear of the bezel and to the base and eliminated all buzzing. I also have enhanced EQ settings as follows:
80hz = (-1)
220hz = (0)
470hz = (+3)
1khz = (+5)
2.2khz= (-3)
4.7khz =(+3)
12khz= (+5)

Hi,
You can try to connect a headphone and listening if you hear the same distortion.
If not, there could me a resonance in the housing of your TV or blown up speakers.

I had success using sections of a rubber band taped over the plastic pegs on the backing panel. I believe they were vibrating against the sheet metal behind the screen.
I have a wall mounted 60" lg. Same problem. Stuck a shirt and sock (per another recommendation) back there where the rear metal housing was vibrating and all is well.

Lower tones seem to cause a vibration noise. I am guessing something loose hold speakers or the speaker is broken
I have the same problem with the LG 37 inch. It is more noticeable in Cinema sound mode.
I have the same problem with my 42" LG model 42LB4. I just took the back panel off to check speakers and they appear to be fine. I thought they might be blown. I'm going nuts trying to find something that could vibrate. It starts at only about 30% of the 100% volume.
Can anybody help? I don't want to buy new speakers only to have NOT fixed the problem.
Yes, I have the same problem too with my 32 in. I assumed when I first heard it on higher register that it was the plastic casing, so I put a pad under the base, but no change. I squeezed the upper right back of the console, thinking that it would tighten up the vibrating plastic, but still no remedy. I wondered how the problem coud be a blown speaker since I never shot the volume higher than 60, so I tried fiddling with the woofer-tweeter adjustments, seeking a new balance. No luck. I'm sure it's a lack of pads or felt gaskets between the speakers and the plastic case, but I'm not about to open the console. Perhaps the problem can be solved only by attaching separate speakers.
