Color codes may not be exact, but the pin outs are. Telling you what wires goes to where.

Your question is not very specific but I expect that you have discovered that Volvo does not bother to color code their sound system wiring. They seem to use whatever wire they have laying around, so there is no particular pattern, and often all the wires are the same color.
If your car still has the original stereo plugs, you can buy a wiring kit from the installation shop at Best Buy. It will have a plug that plugs into the Volvo plug and wires that are color coded to standard color coding so you can figure out how to connect it to the new stereo. I not only had to put in a new stereo, but I had to bypass the original amplifier in my '91. The kit from Best Buy made it all Plug and Play!

Don't know the color codes, but It has two 4.8mm round contacts on 19mm centres and two grounding clips on the sides of the connector body for Germany (Type C Plug).

white 2
blue 3
black 4

I don't have a diagram so am just going to advise you to clean the wires and see if they are color coded, if they are you just have to connect color to color and since it is a car, they probably are. If you end up with a several same color wires and the others are coded, the same color ones probably connect to the same place electrically and can be connected to any the same color.
You can also look very carefully at the ends of the wires and possibly pick out the ones that go together.

If you haven't purchased the plugs yet. The wire color codes should be included in the package.

• If you are using used plugs ck the back of the plugs for color or function of wire
• Wht - ground
• red - stop
• blue - accessory/aux
• brown - tail
• black - Marker
• grn - left turn
• yellow - right turn

if the plug ends are the same it should work and you may have to take a plug from the aerostar and use that plug on the windstar

For example; Green wire goes to green screw on machine. White in the middle, red on left, black on right. (observed small color coded wires connecting in back-ground as well.)

In general, each color should match. Meaning, white with white.
