dry cam.? so what did you do , just before it went dry. ( nothing. ?) got full oil pressure, mine does 50 psi cold at sender port on left side. was head off? yes.? then you put the head gasket backwards and blocked the 50thou head port. in left front of block deck. my new felpro gasket is marked, UP. buy Felpro gaskets. then win. i do top end oil ,last after i rebuild engines, and do it, only with starter and no fuel. i never burn up engines, new. not one. yet.
if this just happened by magic? doing nothing? then the orifice is plugged in the head, mine is 0.050" in diameter. can clog easy, if not careful. one way is using RTV and it gets to there.
Make sure the drain bolt is tight and filter is tight first then look for your self and see If the value cover has oil around it if so it is the covers if not it could be your seals
Could the smoke be coming from the exhaust manifold on the passenger side of the engine? When the valve cover starts to leak, it is common for the oil to leak down and burn on the outside of the exhaust manifold.
Replacing a valve cover gasket is not difficult or expensive, and it is common for BMW valve cover gaskets to get brittle and shrink and start leaking every 10 years or so. My wife's 330 needed a new valve cover gasket at 6 years.
no car that is burning white smoke is burning water check your oil see if on the dip stick it looks like cholet milk if so then the head gasket is bad on it. you can have oil frained and the head gasket replaced you shouldnt need to replace the engine.
Blue smoke means the engine is burning oil, so it has very worn internal parts inside. (lots of miles, or very poor maintenance) Not a thing you can do about this, except rebuild the engine, or replace the engine.
Black smoke means that the engine is running too rich, getting too much gas.- Get a complete tune up.
White smoke means that the engine is burning its coolant, which means that you probably need a new head gasket (Best case) or the block, or piston sleeve, or head is cracked. If cracked block or sleeve, then you need a new engine. If head or head gasket, then you only need those parts replaced.
you likely have a head gasket issue or cylinder issue. Neither of these is remotely cheap to fix. if the smoke is gray probably burning oil, if the smoke is white probably getting water in the oil from failed head gasket.
Hi, this solution will be useful to you. Your engine is burning oil. That in trurn, your engine has worn valve guide. Piston rings an engine that burns lot oil so it needs to be repaired. You have to do valve job and new set of rings.
