Have you fitted a memory card?
The camera will only take a few photos using its own memory.
It takes: SD Memory Card, SDHC Memory Card , SDXC Memory Cards.
If you have fitted a memory card it may be faulty and you will need to buy another.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

If you go into the menu you will run across an option saying " Format "This will remove all pictures off your card if you have one inserted or it will give you a " format Internal memory " option this will erase the contents on your camera's memory. If you can connect it to the computer you can also right click on the device in my computer and go to format. You can usually remove and copy pictures individually through both the computers right click menu or in the camera by entering preview mode and entering the preview mode menu for more options about that file or multiple files.
