Booting into safe mode usually indicates a problem with the machine. When powering it on, keep punching F8 for the "Safe Mode" boot option window and try choosing "Last good Configuration". You might try Restoring it back to before this started. Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and then System Restore.
Sounds like a loose or bad cable for the display. You will need someone to do some dis-assembly to reveal that cable. Hopefully that connection will be loose and simply snugging it will fix the problem.

First thing you're gonna want to try is reseating the memory.
Second, see if you can get into the bios by pressing F2, F10, DEL key it depends see if you see something on the screen, sometimes pressing ESC does it. It all depends.
You may have to do a major reset on it. First remove and replace the battery and turn it on again. If that doesn't fix it, there is a tiny reset button on the bottom near the connector. You will need to push it in with a small point such as a paper clip wire.
