Lambchopp22 the bobbin case "the black thing" can be tricky to get back in but first you may need to get a new bobbin case because that is what can cause the whole bridnesting thing check to see if you have a nick or a hole in the bobbin case. then be sure you have the bobbin in correctly this also can cause the bridnesting thing to happien. after you make sure that the case is ok or get a new one turn the hand wheel toward you until the metal hook is at the one o'clock postion you might have to move the hand wheel back and forth to get it to slide in correctly. hope this helps you out

Problem with thread getting caught under bobbin holder

have you applied any lubricant to the bobbin holder the one that holds the bobbin? I would suggest using your manual and lube your machine. sounds to me like your mechanism is sticking.

How do I put the bobbin case back in to the shuttle holder, mine keeps falling out?

Put bobbin in holder. Thread properly. Pull out arm on bobbin which holds spool in place and gives u a handle. Place into position. Turn slightly so it fits into appropriate slot. Let go of arm. That's it. Good luck.

Singer 8280 (prelude) I had 2 threads coming out from my bobbin area, so I decided to open it up and take a look. I accidentally took out the whole bobbin shuttle. The manual doesn't tell me how to...

Ok, hang on! This can get tricky! Remove the bobbin. Remove the presser foot and the needle. Remove the throat plate. This gives you plenty of room to monkey with your bobbin case. NOW, lay the bobbin case in its correct area and gently rotate it until it falls into place. It may take several tries. Once you're satisfied that it's secure, snap the holding clips into place and it should all fit nicely. THEN place your bobbin in the case correctly...check the diagram in the manual. Depending on the machine, some bobbins have the threads coming off counterclockwise and others have them coming off clockwise, but your manual should show. Sometimes, there's even a diagram on the throat plate or the bobbin case as well.
Good luck. Hope this works. If this solves your problem, please come back and rate my answer!

I have an Elna Carina Electonic machine. It was just tuned up, but got jammed up in the bobbin. I took it out, used brush to get all lint out but now cannot get the bobbin unit back in an working. No...

Lovely machine, don't dispair. You need to turn the rotary hook with your flywheel so that the open side of the hook is facing you. Now move the black inner piece around inside so that the cutout side is facing you too and just a bit to the left. Now lower the bobbin holder in with the metal arms facing towards you , they should slip in between the outer parts. You want the two bobbin case screws to line up with the holes underneath, just give it a bit of a wiggle until you feel it drop into place. Now screw in the two screws on the bobbin holder with your mini screwdriver from your kit to secure.

Now rotate the flywheel towards you, the bobbin holder should stay still while the rotary hook goes around.

If you have any issues feel free to email me on [email protected] and I'll try to elaborate or take a pic of the process tonight.

And remember to hold the two threads when you start a seam at the back for a few stitches to avoid the thread jams, just a quirk on these machines but I love them so much.

Hope this helps you.

METAL PLATE COVERING BOBBIN WON'T STAY DOWN

Take it apart again and compare the original screw with the one you substituted. If they are not the same size, you will need to get one that matches the original.

Re-place the needle plate and when firmly in place, put the screws back in.

Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

Can't reinsert bobbin holder

You may not have the bobbin case seated properly in the bobbin well. Make sure the flat edges go underneath the metal flanges that are there to hold it in. I'm attaching photos of a similar problem I answered earlier that might help you understand how it goes in.

Below are the directions I sent with the photos...I hope this helps you! Good luck!

"This type of case can be a pain. First in photo 1, on the silver flange marked in a red circle there is a rectangular hole marked with a green circle. using a flat head screwdriver, insert into the rectangle and turn to the right. This should move the flange tongue marked with a blue circle towards the back white wall of the bobbing well. In Photo 2 take the black bobbin case and place in the bobbin well area marked with the pink spiral. Tilt the case slightly to insert the flat tongue marked with an orange X on the black bobbin case under the flange marked with an orange X in the bobbin well. Now let the black bobbin case sit in the bobbin well marked with the pink spiral. Now in Photo 3, you want to turn the black bobbin case to the right so the flat tongue marked with the orange X will go underneath the flange marked with an orange X. The other flat area marked with a purple X on the black bobbin case should line up with the purple X in the bobbin well. Once the black bobbin case is seated in, repeat the steps from Photo 1 in reverse to get the silver flange back over the bobbin case to hold it in place. I hope you can understand my directions and I hope this helps! Good Luck!"

Thread catching and bunching up in bobbin latch while sewing

I had the same problem where the thread was getting all bunched up on the underside. I took everything out and followed the manual concerning threading, then manually moved my right wheel to see if it would get bunched up. It took awhile, but I finally got it sew correctly again. I;m still not sure what was wrong with it. I have a singer 7470.
