okay first of all check that the batteries can be seen from the charger socket, otherwords get a electronic meter and insert the probes in the two outside holes , do you get a reading on DC ?
Make sure u have inserted the Batteries matching the Polarity.............
If Stil it doesnt work..............Try using Rechargeable Batteries...............
If still doesnt work call Canon and get teh Camera Replaced................
The battery on these units dies after so many recharges. You most likely need to replace the battery. It's not difficult and you can usually find replacement batteries on E-Bay for around $20.
