How to clear the memory

The fax machine we have is showing up 100% in memory, at least, I think that is memory. The memory light is on, so we can't fax anymore. How do I clear the memory?

How to clear fax memory?

Remove AC power from the unit for 10 seconds. You can simply pull the cord from the back of the machine. This will clear the fax memory buffer. When the unit restarts, it will want to print a one page "power down report" and will show that the buffer has been cleared.

MEMORY FULL ON SHARP UX-460

In addition to clearing memory this *will reset unit to factory defaults.
*****all of your programmed settings will be erased.

First power down the fax by unplugging, then power on.

After the power is turned on and "WAIT A MOMENT" is displayed, press & hold the STOP key.....until a normal display message shows.

*The above step allows the memory to be cleared! If this step is skipped clearing memory to factory defaults, (below) may not always work.

Press the "function" key followed by ALL of the following

9 * 8 # 7

wait until "diag mode" is showing.

Then press start button, followed by either * or #
until "memory clear" message is displayed.

then press start. If stressful "memory cleared" is shown.
proceed to re-program your fax machine settings.

Job waiting message appears on screen.

You can selectively clear information stored in your machine’s memory.
1. Press Setup on the control panel. The display shows the first menu;
FAX NUMBER/NAME.
2. Press ➛ or ❿ until ‘MEMORY CLEAR’ appears, then press
Start/Enter. The display shows the items you can choose to clear.
• FAX NUMBER/NAME : your fax number and name are cleared from
the machine’s memory.
• DIAL/SCHEDULE : clears the one-touch, speed dial, or group dial
numbers stored in the memory. In addition, all
the Schedule Job operations you have reserved
are also cancelled.
• JOURNAL : clears all records of transmissions & receptions.
• DEFAULT SETUP : restores all the option settings to factory default.

Only clear de Journal, don't clear the other.
Try this if it resolve the problem.
