My printer is becoming tempermental....at times it will print up to 90 pages without stopping. At other times it will stop between each page and the green light turns amber. I will then simply slide the clean paper back a few inches and then slide it forward to resume printing. Some times it will continue printing multiple pages, at other times I have to repeat the ''slide in -out'' sequence between each page.

If your HP LaserJet 1200 printer is experiencing intermittent printing issues, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Check for paper jams: Even if you don't see any visible paper jams, it's worth opening up the printer and checking for any small bits of paper or debris that might be causing a partial blockage. Use a flashlight to examine the paper path thoroughly.
2. Clean the paper path: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate in the paper path, leading to printing problems. You can use compressed air or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the rollers and other accessible parts of the paper path.
3. Verify printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers specifically for the HP LaserJet 1200 printer model.
4. Reset the printer: Perform a power cycle by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. This process can help clear any temporary glitches or errors.
5. Adjust printer settings: Check the print settings on your computer and ensure they are appropriate for the print job. Make sure you have selected the correct paper size, paper type, and print quality settings.
6. Update printer firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can address known issues and improve the printer's performance.
7. Check for hardware issues: If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue with the printer. Consider contacting HP support or a printer technician to diagnose and repair the printer.
Remember to consult the printer's user manual for specific instructions on maintenance and troubleshooting.

The paper feed solenoid is sticking. There is a foam material that deteriates over time and becomes sticky. I remove what's left and put masking tape in its place.
Is the paper feeding from the manual tray or tray 2. If you are printing from tray 2 and have this problem then it is likely that your driver or software is looking for different paper types than you have loaded in the printer. For example, if you have plain paper in tray 2 and your software wants to print on letterhead, then the printer will stop after each page and by pressing the button you are telling the printer that it is ok to print on different paper. If you have the paper in the manual feed tray (tray 1) then I would check to make sure you are telling the pirnter to print to tray 1 and not manual feed when you send a print job.
noise is caused by the toner cartridge and paper is not going trough because there is a plastic milar clse to the feed roller that is bent, find it and push it towards the inside of printer (is a black or dark brown plastic mylar)

I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud
Check the tray to make sure the paper stops are set right and that the printer is set for the correct size paper. Clean the feed rollers above the paper in the tray and if necessary, replace them.
Please Follow the instructions in an attempt to resolve the issue you are facing:
Turn off the printer and remove all paper from the paper tray & disconnect it from the computer.
With the printer off, check for any obstructions such as torn paper or foreign objects.
Turn on the printer (still disconnected from the computer) and check the lights / lcd screen.
Still getting the same error ? Go for Warranty or Service.
Else,
Place 20-30 sheets of paper in the printer, ensuring none of the paper is torn or creased.
Make sure that the paper is flush with the far right edge of paper
tray, move the left edge paper guide over so that it touches the left
side of the paper.
Try to feed paper manually (using the paper feed button).
If you still get the error let me know for further troubleshooting,
Thanks,
Seems to be working fine.
