I have not synced my ipod recently. Tried to update my version of i-tunes and sync my ipod and keep receiving an error to verify I have i-pod service authority. Never had this problem in past.

Hello, friend. If you are running iTunes below version 11, I can help you. Open iTunes and plug in your iPod. On the left hand side there should be your iPod name, go to your iTunes playlist and drag the songs you want to your iPod. For all of the songs, go to your iPod music library, even if you don't have songs, and on the bottom there should be a blue-ish bar. There might be a box saying "Autofill from iTunes library" click that ONLY if you want ALL songs from your iTunes to your iPod. Or You may try this ipod transfer, it's
a nice iTunes alternative that can help you manage iPod files including delete,
upload, play, copy, etc. It's much easier to use than iTunes. http://www.ipod-transfer-copy.com/ipod-iphone-to-computer-transfer-cucusoft.html
Try getting a software update for i tunes, also it depends how old you i pod is. after a while my i pod didn't want to sync either. Maybe you need to buy a new charger.
You will have to create a I tunes account in order to update the bios and drivers.
After you install I tunes to your computer then connect your I Pod to the computer with I tunes running using the data cord.
Then I tunes will sync with your player and then you will be able to update the I Pod.
It will ask you if you want to sync with this computer....you will reply yes.
You can then add all your music, pictures, videos into I tunes and the I Pod will then be recognized by the computer as your souce computer.
Please take time to rate me
you have to get into the I-Tune and check mark everything you want to send over to I-Pod, then it should. When you are in I-Tunes you have to click on the left where your I-Pod is and click on the different tabs and add all the thing you want it to sync
Dear dragonfly 111, try to download the latest i-tune on your laptop from the right site, remove your installed older version of i-tune... restart you computer, install your latest i-tune, now try connect your i-pod, make sure you mark your automatic i-tune software update to keep your ipod work at it best...
You need to set your iPod to update manually, instead of syncing automatically when you plug it into the computer.
To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, and on the iPod info screen that pops up in iTunes when your iPod is connected, click "Manually Manage Files." You'll now have to click and drag your songs from your library to your iPod, but now you can also play songs on your computer directly from your iPod and delete songs from your library without deleting them from your iPod at the same time.
to "manually update ipod" if it is set to autosync then all tunes in the library which are registered as being on the pod will automatically update. each time you connect the pod the itunes sw will update the pod from the library.
when the pod is connected and auto sync is active if you delete a tune from the lib it will update the pod and delete the same tune.
