Shop vacs are multiple purpose with dry/wet intake. So typically you don't need a bag. You just open the tank and empty it like a big trash can. They will have a large filter In the tank that needs to be cleaned/replaced.
I'm not real experienced with this model vac, but I do know that many of the newer vac's are being manufactured with a small button or lever, whatever the particular brand of vac decides would best fit on their unit, that would be located somewhere around the edge of the bag door opening and would need to be depressed by having a bag inside in order for the machine to run. I would check for something of this nature to be sure that during the bag change that you didn't just miss putting it in quite right to depress the go button. Other than that, it's entirely possible that the switch died. If that's the case you'll need to bring it in to a vac repair shop for help.
If the bag full light keeps coming on, you can first try adjusting the dial on top of the vacuum cleaner. If that does not work, then you need to change the control valve. This is an internal component of the canister and is directly below the dial. You will need to follow the instructions on a previous post to open the Electrolux plastic canister vacuum, and remove the bage cage. Once you remove the bage cage you can change the control valve, and this will solve your problem with the bag full indicator.
hi from uk may i suggest you remove cover and the new dust collection bag then if you look in the bag compartment there is a gauze filter fitted usually grey in colour ? at opposite end of compartment where bag connects this gauze filter is the outlet from bag compartment that the air exhales when vac is operating ie as vac **** up dust into bag the bag has microscopic holes that allow sucked up air and dust to collect but keeps dust from passing into bag chamber but allows air to escape thro holes and so enter bag chamber then escapes via the gauze filter to outside of vac hope you follow this ?? now if this filter is blocked/never been cleaned/changed ? then the symptoms of indicator bag full light will come on you can remove and wash filter if it is gauze typ? dry and refit then try vacuuming ? or replace filter they are not expensive usually in pack of 3 in uk DO NOT RUN VAC WITHOUT THIS FILTER FITTED ! or you will have some dust in the room ? hope this helps?
The bag is the first stage in your filtration. Most times what you did will draw fine dust right through the filters and into the motor itself, affecting the bearings and clogging the motor fans, throwing them off balance. The fact that there is a new noise would seem to indicate bearing problems which will only worsen unless the vac motor is dismantled, fans cleaned and bearings either replaced or cleaned and repacked.
The part that you call the particle size sensetivity adjuster is bad. There are 2 seals in the assembly, the lower seal is slipping out of place because the plastic lip which keeps it in place is broken. Split housings and replace part. This machine is alot of work to take appart and get back together correctly. Might want to bring to local vac shop. good luck.
hey just thought you might like to know that I have been given an answear on the same problem log in to get the info. Now I just need to know how to open it without breaking it!
