I have a new computer running on Vista 64bit and am unable to get the computer to load the drivers for my Coolscan IV ED. I am using the latest Nikon software, Nikon Scan 4. The computer scans for the drivers and when directed right to the fold with the drivers it is still unable to install them. MAN THIS REALLY IRRITATES ME!

There is also a firmware update for this model. After installing the Nicon Scan software that includes the scanner driver (ensure that scanner is recognized), do the firmware update. Follow instructions on site and do not interrupt firmware update procedure, or that may damage the scanner.
