Go to the website www.portforwarding.com and click on the routers list. Select your router then select the application (the webcam). From there there is step-by-step instructions on how to do it!

Windows 7 driver

No driver needed since it does not need to be installed into Windows. Connect the ISP modem to the main port. DSL or Network port, depending on your service. Then connect your PC to any other port. That's it!.
To adminstrate. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.254 Alternate Admin URL: http://gateway.2wire.net/setup/
There is a small reset hole if it already has a password. Hold it in till it cycles. This will clear any custom settings/

How do i install ip cameras so that i can see them over the internet? I have a dvr connected to my 2wire modem and I do have static ips

You need to find out what ports your ip cameras use, and then setup port forwarding on your router. If you have 1 box that controls all the cameras, you just need to forward port 80 traffic to that box. If you have multiple cameras with NO main junction box, you will need to go into the setup on each camera, and specify a port to use.
Then in the router, set up port forwarding to forward each different port, to the camera it goes with. Then when you want to see the camera from home you would type the ip address in the browser, then a colon, then the port number --> IPADDRESS:81

2wire 1800HG router keeps resetting

1) Check power cord. 2wire has known issues with power cords being defective. If you have a Multimeter, I would check to ensure the correct voltage and amperage and being delivered to the router first.

2) Need to resolve the "resetting problem" first. Then attack the port forwarding issue.

Using 2wire 1800hg Home Portal. Have successfully connected with PC Port Adaptors using the existing telephone line. No problems. Then purchased a laptop w/ Vista installed. 2wire setup CD causes error...

Listen, you do not need that CD! This is already configured. That cd is for other types of troublesome operating systems that just cannot seem to get is DNS settings right such as windows XP. The cd is for XP only you do not need this with vista.

2wire 1800hg-- HomePNA stopped working

What you can do, is take the HPNA adapter from the back of the computer and plug the phone cable portion of it directly to the 1800hg's phone port. Since your 1800hg only has 1 phone port though it will not surf the internet, but this is a suggestion to try to make sure the inside wiring in your house is not bad. If you do this though your computer should say its connected, if it doesnt then it could be a driver issue or the phone cable in the HPNA adapter (try a new one then). If its the driver then try support.2wire.com for the regular usb drivers.

Ip camera logon ptoblem

You might have forwarded the wrong ports of the camera to the wrong IP address. Make sure you assign static IP on the camera. Firewalls should be turned off as well.

Linksys camera wvc54gc

make wsure that that port 1024 is assigned to the ip address of the camera under port forwarding, you can also try changing the remote port, try 5000 and above, if it still does not work try DMZ.
you can always check if port 1024 is open on your router by performing a port scan through the net, you can get a free port scanner on this site..

for the process on doing fort forwarding on your 2wire router check this link.
