Did it ever work as far as you Know? Some vehicles have a coded key and if the key is not in the ignition at the time the remote is activated it will not start. Some systems have a key hidden in the system and some have a bypass. It is hard for me to tell you which you have as not being the installer. You may have to contact Avital or go to thier web site for more detailed info.

SOURCE: cranks but engine doesn't start avital remote start

I beleive it is a pink wire for the ignition. If you can locate where it is connected this is your ignition wire. It may have worked loose under the dash.

if your key has a blue square where the metal meets the plastic on the key, you will need to reprogram the data module used to bypass the theft system, or remove the spare key that is installed and have the dealer reprogram it

Cranks w/remote but doesn't start. with key in ignition in on position will start w remote

you need a anti theft module for your vehicle and most likely an extra key for the unit to work. The key is needed for the factory security to recognise the and unarm the vehicle to allow it to start
