Card locked i want to take pics but it says card is locked can anyone help me

most all cameras cannot move pics from internal memory to memory card. You first have to save them to your hard drive with a usb connection. Then you can move the pics to the memory card if you have a card reader. Or... replug the camera into usb after installing the memory card. Then you can move the pics to the memory card. Note: if trying the later you have to name the pics following the same naming convention as the pics already on your memory card. otherwise, they will not show up or will replace those that already exist on the card.

So I got the same error message a few weeks ago. I bought a card reader and a software program that is supposed to recover lost/deleted/corrupt files but to no avail.

I have tried the SD card on my sister's camera (same Canon powershot) and it doesnt work. I have tried my sister's SD card on my camera and it does work so it is not my camera. It is clearly the SD card with an error.

What can i do, i cant lose these pics!!

P.S. The SD card itself is UNLOCKED.

You can change out your pictures by having an XD or SD Memory cards if you have a card reader for your computer plug in the memory card put the photos on to it that u want on ur pic frame and plug it in to the xd/sd card slot on the left hand side of the photo frame and there u go. If you want ur pics off the internal memory u can transfer them from the frame to the card via the options button or menu button that is.

no you have to format the card, move all of your files from the card, put it back in the phone and get the phone to format it for you

if your cam is using a sd card, the card could be locked, theres a little switch on the side of the card try using that and see wat happens. its tiny on one of the sides.

The SETUP menus should allow you to unlock the card. Alternatively, re-formatting will clear the card and start anew, or you can put a new card in (they are cheap)

On your SD memory card where your batteries are, on the left side of the card there is a little slider, slide it up to unlock the card, slide it down to lock it.

1st check in ur mobile memory card lock opption and then lock ur memory card.

Hi pinakbet, the more detail the better I say. :) I had a problem similar to this with an SD card, the way I fixed it was to backup all of the data from the card onto my PC, then format the card totally wiping everything off it. Then putting it back into the phone so that it will reformat it so that the phone can read it. Then try again, if the problem persists, I would say the card itself is faulty, take it back if it is still under warranty, or if not, I'm afraid it looks like you may have to purchase a new one.
