SOURCE: I've got this laptop

Hi,
You don't want to download any program to run programs compatible for windows XP, you can find a built in program coming with windows 7, and it is very easy to do,
go to control panel and open troubleshoot, then select programs, click next, after scanning it will all the programs that installed on your laptop, then select any programs which has compatibility problem with windows 7,
then you can see one option to start that program with Windows XP compatibility mode, after opening that software, click on next, and save that settings,,,,
finished....
you can fix all problems,

I hope it will be useful for you, so don't forget to rate me if you are happy

Thank you

How can I get this to work on windows 7

Hi,

uninstall it from your system, then right click on the installer and click on "compatibility mode". Then choose Windows XP or Windows 2000. But that doesn't work all the time but it sure is worth to try!

I am trying to use Picasa 3 and was doing great, now when I try to use it I am getting a message that says CBlockFile::open Block err=2 thumbs ob I love the program and use it daily please tell me how...

Every folder on your C: drive that contains any picture will contain a file named 'thumbs.db'.
So, close Picasas.
Open "My Pictures", and then open the folder that contains the picture.
Click 'Tools".
Click "Folder Options".
Click "View"
Change the setting to "view hidden files".
Delete that 'thumbs.db' file.
Change the setting to "hide hidden files".
Re-open Picasa.
Picasa will rebuild that 'thumbs.db' file.

Scanjet G2710 on XP sp3. After full install, only driver is installed. No error messages. Uninstall offers only driver uninstall, no sofware.

First install the required drivers for the HP Scanjet G2710 Flatbed Scanner.
Simple way is to scan is use PICASA

GOTO http://picasa.google.com/
Download picasa 3.8
  1. Make sure everything is connected and turned on!
  2. Put the photo on the glass of the scanner - face down
  3. In Picasa, click 'Import'
  4. Click the arrow for the drop down list of devices. You should see your scanner listed ... select it
  5. Now you will see a screen that depends on your scanner. There should be an option to 'Preview'. Click that.
  6. You should now see your picture, there may be some settings you want to change here, but if it looks OK then
  7. Click the button to Scan
  8. When it's done scanning, you're back at the standard Picasa Import screen. Click Import all.
  9. Select a folder to put it in. I made a folder called 'Old Photos' for the first one, then, for each subsequent scanned photo, I selected that existing folder from the drop-down list.

Camera not compatable with windows 7, have disc for windows 2000/XP

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Trying to install samsung digimax s500 on laptop operating windows 7. CD software is for windows 98/2000/ME/XP. Any advice?

The camera is probably supported by default in Windows 7.

To find out if this is the case, you should try using Picasa to download the pictures off of your camera.

Picasa is a free download from Google and has many cutting-edge features for picture management. I think that you'll like it.

  • Download Picasa from their web site (click here) to your Desktop
  • Once the Picasa file has completed downloading, Open the file and follow the directions displayed.
  • Once you have Picasa installed, connect your Olympus camera. Picasa will recognize that you have connected the camera and ask you how you want to proceed.
  • Have Picasa copy the images from your camera
  • You can then use Picasa to handle the photos from your camera.
