The stove top works fine but the oven does not work at all. there is nothing on the clock (no red dot).... any suggestions?
My Amana stove had the same symptom. I repaired the EOC myself. I have twenty years in comsumer electrics repair. The problem was that three small capacitors were getting weak and needed to be replaced. The parts were $1.50. Sending to a place in Texas that rebuilds EOCs would have cost over $100. New clock units are over $200.
If you have a friendly local repair shop, they may be able to replace the bad capacitors. If you can't get the clock removed from the stove, you may need to call someone for some help.
Most electric range ovens are controlled by the electronic oven control (EOC). If your oven is not working and there is no display on the clock, more than likely you have a bad EOC. The board is not serviceable and has to be replaced. I hope this helps.
