I have 2 hardrive in my pc the 40 GB seagate as primary and the 30 GB Maxtor hard drive as a slave...My slave is detected on the BIOS but when im I open to the windows..it shows nothing..
What should i do? Should i put jumper to detect my slave hard drive?
Yes, connect the primary HD to the end of the cable and set it to master. Connect the slave HD to the middle connector and set it to slave. Also go to start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>computer management>disk management. It may be that the slave just needs formatted.
Hi,
setup the first drive as slave ( sometimes No Jumper ) then the furthest away drive as Master.
If this fails, and you have 2 IDE Slots on the motherboard. ( Primary/Secondary ) Put 1 drive on primary as Slave. And DVD Rom As Master ( same Cable ) Then put second drive On Secondary IDE Slot. ( Set As Master Or Slave )
If none of these solutions Work For you, check to see if Both Channels are activated in the Bios.
Thankyou For Using Fixya.
