Question about Lexar Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Lexar 32GB USB Flash Drive. Not recognized, or recognized for a short time then disappears from drive selections.

At one time, CPU would recognize the drive and indicate it had a bad file and ask to correct it, which I approved. Now when I insert it, it is identified by the USB interface as having a malfunction. Has less of a problem being reliably recognized on another system, but, exhibits similar issues there also.

Flash drives give notices like that when the files or system on them is corrupted. Put it in again, and select "fix problem" if that option shows up. If not, go to file explorer, find it and right click on it and click "format". (you will lose any files on it, but by this time probably anything on it will be useless anyhow.) If none of these work, you may need to buy a new one.

First, download and try to extract all the files from your drive with this tool:

http://www.lexar.com/drivers/files/ImageRescue_2.0-u(b16).zip

Second, at the moment that you are sure that you have all your files backed up, if windows recognizes the drive, try to right click on it and format

SOURCE: My computer is not recognizing

Have you already formatted the memory card? you may do this via the console of your camera. Sometimes you have to format it first before taking pictures as the computer will not recognize it. Please try a USB flash reader as well. by the way another symptom is that your Memcard is configured for 2.0 if your port on your computer is for 1.0 it might not be backward compatible. This happened to me on a Canon but it might be the case with yours as well. Please try to see if it will be read on another computer.

If you need further assistance please do message me.

Hello Kitty 8Gb flash drive isn't recognized on PC

physical damage is the most common reason a flash drive isn\'t detected. The connection between the USB connector and the circuit board can become disconnected after even normal use. A telltale sign is a loose or bent connector, but sometimes the damage is undetectable with the naked eye. if you want to do this your self..If you accept the risk and choose to repair your flash drive yourself, the first step is to apply light pressure to either side of the flash drive while it is inserted. Make sure the sound on your computer is on so you will hear the "ding" if the connection is momentarily reestablished. If you do get an indication, you can try to hold your flash drive in the position that causes it to show up. While you hold it in place, ask someone to access the drive and save your files to your computer. This requires a steady hand and if you have a lot of data on your flash drive, you might have to hold it in the same position for a long time.

After inserting the correct cd , computer is asking for the cd crom ??

This is happening when it needs the crack to be inserted ..somehow it does not recognize the disk ..In original these games were made to be played directly from the disk ..Inserting the disk will not fix it cause the files it is looking for aren't there. What you need is the crack for the game ..it is just an executable file ..that need to be copied in the director of the game ..and will replace the original start file ..
if you find it ..download and copy to C drive /program files..in the folder of the game ..it will ask if you want to replace the file..and you have to confirm the action .

Having transcend 4 GB pend drive but when i insert into my laptop the drive did not open

When a pen drive isn't recognized it is either the pen drive or the usb port. First thing is to try it in the other ports. You can try rebooting the computer with the drive not connected and see if it finds it. Next try it on a different computer. If it finds it then the problem is on the usb port on the first computer.

If it is not recognized on any computer then the pen drive has failed and it is unlikly that you can do anything but replace it with a new one. If it is recognized but not being read on any computer you may be able to use the systems error checking tools to correct the problem and use the drive again. You can also format it and get it working but you loose your stored information.

To use error checking:
Detecting and repairing disk errors
  1. Open shortcutcold.gifMy Computer, and then select the local disk you want to check.
  2. On the File menu, click Properties.
  3. On the Tools tab, under Error-checking, click Check Now.
  4. Under Check disk options, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box.
note.gif Notes
  • To open My Computer, click Start, and then click My Computer.
  • All files must be closed for this process to run. If the volume is currently in use, a message box will appear prompting you to indicate whether or not you want to reschedule the disk checking for the next time you restart your system. Then, the next time you restart your system, disk checking will run. Your volume will not be available to perform other tasks while this process is running.

To format it: use the same instructions and instead choose the format option.

If none of that makes it behave all you can do is replace it.

I have a Dell. My Roxio prog doesn't recognize a discs

That means there is something wrong with your driver. If it cannot read any disc you inserted then the problem exist in your drive. You don't need to reinstall any driver as long as you can see your drive being recognized by your computer and you can see your drive in the My Computer with a letter indicated on it. Your drive is in need for a replacement. This problem indicates a hardware failure specifically the lens of the device.

Hope this helps..

DS won't recognize inserted card.

Try a nintendo approved DS Card in the system, if you can't get that to take then you know the slot in the DS is bad and the DS needs to be replaced.

If you can get a nintendo approved DS card to work then you know that you need to stay away from the 3rd party cards.

When I connect my WD to the CPU the light comes

Make sure you have the power plugged in plus the flat cable. Unplug the drive and start your computer. Power computer off and try hooking it up again. Windows should find it. If it doesn't, do you have the CD that came with it? If you do, go to control Panel, add hardware, and when it prompts you, insert CD. It should find it. If it doesn't find it the first time, I have had success on the second or third try, so don't give up. Hope this helps.

Mother board or CpU Doesnt work. technician said I have a ghost inside my CPU!

verify your bios settings with regards to what the pc is expecting in way of hard drive.
Do you have the luxury of another hard drive that you can try on this pc ? - this will 'suggest' where the problem rests.
Make sure the lead is fully located on the back of hard drive.
If possible - change the lead for a 'known working' lead (Maybe from the computer that your hard drive was recognized in)
