Free PC TO PC Call is NOT working on yahoo messenger

I was using yahoo messenger 9.0 & when I tried making a PC to PC call, the response that I get is "Connecting to Voice Service". Its been 5 days and I still get the same response.
So, I unintalled yahoo messenger 9.0 & installed 7.0 instead & there is no change.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

    I have installed yahoo messenger 9.0.0.2124, after that free PC to PC call is not working, I am getting message CONNECTING TO VOICE SERVICE.., it takes long time then finally giving message "Sorry, but we were unable to place your call. Please try again." Please if some know the solution, please inform. Thanks, [email protected] 31.01.2009.

    Same problem here! Been having it for about two weeks now. I have two OS on my Mac book, unable to use Yahoo PC to PC or Yahoo Phone Out services on both Windows and Leopard. Incidentally this happened right after I reloaded my Phone Out balance. Chatted with 4 yahoo reps, with no concrete results yet. It seems to have been escalated now to their engineering department. Note: Chat service is offered to people who use Phone Out.

    Also, the voice service worked on two occasions in the past two weeks and this happened at the same time I was chatting with the yahoo rep. I am now sure that this is not a problem with our system, so don't bother tweaking your system.

    I have the same problem I've switched between version 8 and 9, confirmed the correct TCP port is open, I've tried the recommended ones... I'm not getting results either.

    I have the same problem here, too, I've switched between versions 8 and 9, I've ensured the correct TCP ports are open (tried all 4 they recommend on the site)..

    I've had the problem since Jan 28 as well. Nice to know that it's "systemic" and not something on my end. .

    I'm having the same problems. I've switched from version 8 to version 9 and back, and seeing the exact same errors that have been reported by the rest of you.

    I'm just relieved it's not just on my end, but it does seem to be pretty random. It works for other friends of mine.

    For the past 3 days my husband and I can't talk on yahoo and we have been for years because he is overseas but it says no voice signal detected from him and he just gets a dropped call message we can send our webcams just can't talk and we can talk on MSN messenger but can' t use webcams and the sound is not real good. Not sure what is going on but sure would be nice to have this resolved. I also uninstalled 9 and installed 7 and still not working! Frustrating

    I have the same problem with Yahoo! Messenger 8.1 ...
    When I click the call button it rings but it doesn't go through to the person I'm talking to and it does the same when they try to call me.
    We both installed the same version of messenger and its not working.

    They no longer have that service, It was discontinued a few years ago. Sorry.

EVEN THE WHOLE WORLD HAVE THIS PROBLEM .ONLY THE THING YOU CAN DO IS TO MAKE CALLS USING THE OPTION (INVITE TO CONFERENCE)YOU CAN SEE IT IN ACTION MENU IN YAHOO MESSENGER 9.0.YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CHAT AND TALK WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS AT THE SAME TIME.IT SOMETIMES GIVES MORE CLARITY THAN MAKING A CALL.

SOURCE: I was using yahoo messenger 9.0 & when I tried

1.Make sure you have connected JACKS of your headphone correctly.
2.Run CALL SET UP assistant in yahoo.
This should solve your problem, else your headphones are not working poperly.

Cant make a call to other pc

To place a free PC-to-PC call to another Yahoo! Messenger customer, you have a choice of three methods:

Method 1: If you wish to call someone on your Messenger List:

  1. Roll your mouse over the contact's name.
  2. Click the Phone icon that appears to the right of their name, then you'll hear a phone ringing.
  3. When you're done talking, click Hang Up for Yahoo! Messenger 8 and End Call for Yahoo! Messenger 9.

Method 2: Using the "Actions" menu to use "Call Computer":

  1. Click the Actions menu and select Call Computer.
  2. The "Call Computer" dialog box will appear, choose the appropriate tab:
    • For contacts on your Messenger List, click the My Contacts tab and then select the contact's name.
    • For someone not on your Messenger List, click the Other Contact tab and then enter the contact'sYahoo! ID.

Important: No 911 or other emergency calling services are available on Yahoo! Messenger at this time.

Please inform anyone using your Yahoo! Messenger that 911 or other emergency calling services are not available, and that they must call 911 or other relevant emergency calling services through their traditional telephone or mobile carrier.

I have unloaded and reloaded yahoo messenger many times i cannot receive im's and yahoo messenger keeps giving me a message not responding i thought i fixed it but not working again
Hi,
Make sure that you are not using Yahoo Messenger version 9 as there is a known bug about it. If you got the version 9 installed remove it from your PC & then install the latest version. Check you security software settings especially the Firewall. Some antivirus software could block the usage of messaging programs. Like for example Norton, check on the program controls of the Firewall.

Installing problem
The installation is not complete. try and re-install it again or yahoo messenger 9.
Follow the directions that appear to proceed with the installation.
Uncheck Make Yahoo! my browser's default search engine
Uncheck Make www.yahoo.com your browser's home page
Click the Next button
Check Yes, I accept the License Agreement terms above, and the Yahoo! Terms of Service.
Click the Next button, and proceed according to the instructions. After re-installation and it still not work, check your Hardware device and setting. if is properly working.

Go Start,Control Panel, Add/remove Programs. Click on Messenger,click remove. This should reinstate the older version. If not, Reboot and download it here;

Flash player 10 Does have conflicts,and 9's latest update 9.0.124.0 Can have conflicts with Yahoo and
is causing some Yahoo services to not load.use the link below for a download of Flashplayer #9.0.115.0 should work as it's older then last update. You have to remove the present flash player,(add/remove programs in control panel). reboot then download the older version.
