My leapad tag pen won't power up. it worked to

Just got this from LeapFrog. Worked for me, although it toook a couple of attempts.
For Macs:

Please try downloading and running this tool and connect the Tag Reader when prompted:

For Windows machines:

1. Close the LeapFrog Connect application.
2. Double-click on this link http://lfccontent.leapfrog.com/cs/tools/LeapFrogTagFixTool.exe then click "Run."
3. Click "Unzip" to extract the files.
(You will be asked for a location to save the files. Save them to your Desktop or to another folder that you can easily find.)
4. After the files are extracted, find the "LeapFrogTagFixTool" folder on your Desktop (or where you saved the extracted files).
5. Open the folder and double-click the "TagFixTool.exe" file to open the LeapFrog Tag Repair Utility program.
6. Connect your Tag Reader to the computer. (Make sure your toy is powered on.)
7. To start the repair process, click the "Click once to fix your Tag Reader or Tag Junior" button.
8. Once the repair process is complete, follow steps printed on the screen to close the program and open LeapFrog Connect.

mine is doing the same thing. it's brand new. my daughter got it for christmas yesterday. i've even tried it on my husband's macbook. both our macbooks are up to date and her leap pad works. i'm about ready to take this stupid thing back to the store. it synced all the books except for her tangled book and will not sync again. i've even tried to restore back to factory settings and it won't even do that. i've deleted and reinstalled the leapfrog connect app 3 times. also seems that the stupid pen sucks down battery juice. i've put brand new lithium batteries in the pen and after 2 hours the pen is acting like it's dying and the only thing we've been doing is trying to sync it.

I'm sorry that the Camcorder is not ejecting tape. Please follow the troubleshooting steps provided below and check the operation:

1. Please make sure that the battery is fully charged. 2. Perform Reset by following steps:

1. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD panel of the camcorder. 2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds. 3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

3. Perform a manual power reset by following the steps:

1. Turn off the camcorder. 2. Disconnect AC power adapter. 3. Remove the battery pack. 4. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds. 5. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position. 6. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack. 7. Turn on the camcorder.

I am having the same problem, contacted Tag (who is only there during work hours which really does not help) they supplied me with an alt connect file. That did not work either. Have you found a solution yet?

The one my kids had (a couple of years ago) could only hold 2 or 3 books at a time. Just limitations of the storage capacity.

hey m8 to fix the problem install it on your computer and click my tag once that is selected you should have a messeage come up saying update tag after you have done this the pen will work fine pal any problems give me an e-mail [email protected]

I experienced the same problem. The computer indicated that everything was synced and that the new story was on the pen. When clicking on the pen it would not announce the new story. I discovered that you have to actually press the pen tip on the story in the book and then it suddenly recognized the story on the pen. It could be a security measure to ensure that you have actually purchased the book prior to being able to use the story on the pen.
