My Dell TV (plasma W4200) has stopped responding to the power button on the remote. And not only that....after I push the power button, then the TV doesn't respond to any other buttons on the remote. I have to power off the TV at the set, then power it back on. The remote buttons work until I hit power, then nothing works (TV doesn't turn off and then doesn't respond to the other buttons).
Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

try pressing your volume up button, and your channel up button at the same time, hold them for 20 seconds
SOURCE: Dell Wireless Keyboard stopped responding, please help.
The keyboard should have a button underneath it. Press the button on the usb controller first and then the button on the keyboard. Repeat a few times to see if it connects. If you are still having trouble try another set of batteries as some batteries are not designed for wireless products.
SOURCE: Computer won't turn on unless I unplug the Ethernet Cable
Is the Ethernet built-in on the system board? I would go to BIOS (hit F2 while booting the PC) and disable the ethernet. then restart the PC. See if it stays on with or without the Ethernet cable plugged in. If it does. The built-in Ethernet circuit is the problem. I would buy a Ethernet adapter ($20).and install it. and leave the built-in ethernet disabled.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
