Try adjusting the top thread tension and see if that helps the loose
stitches
also try a new needle
and make sure the machine is threaded correctly using every thread
guide.

Stitches won't work on Bernina 1080. Sometimes the reverese button works, sometimes it doesn't. Specialty stitches don't appear the way they are supposed to. Everything was fine a couple days ago.

This problem will be found in the computer PCB. You can remove this by:
  1. Remove the handwheel, end cover, and protective cable shroud.
  2. Disconnect the cable plugs from the circuit.
  3. Slide out the entire front cover with attached circuits. NOTE: Do not handle the circuit boards with your fingers except on the front cover edges.
  4. Slide the entire front cover with attached circuits in a PCB static bag and send to: NIT, Inc, 127 Peachtree Dr, Centerville Utah.
They will repair this circuit for you quickly.

Brother SE400 :When I pull on the fabric's sewn part one of the threads slides back and forth. I can then pull on one of the threads-it slides out and the other thread is easily lifted up. How to fix?

Your stitches may be too far apart. But, most likely the issue is that the tensions are not correct. If one thread lays in a smooth straight line on the fabric, the other thread tension is too loose, ie the bobbin thread lays on the fabric and the top thread is going all the way through the fabric and shows on the bobbin side, then the top tension needs to be tightened. The tensions are correct when both threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

When I sew, the stitching is loose with large loops on the underside of the fabric making the bobbin thread slide out easily. How do I fix that?

Lift the pressue foot off the fabric. Hold the thread spool with one hand and lightly pull the thread hanging out the back of the needle. This should seat the tread into your top tension discs properly. Now try sewing again. If it still throws loops, you either do not have your machine threaded correctly or your tension on top is set to zero.

When I embroider with my Pfaff Creative 2 the top tension pulls bobbin thread up too much. I changed toe tension on top but it still does the same thing. How can this be fixed?

Suggest you do rethreading ,then test the stitches on straight stitch. If top stitches is loose you have to reduce the upper thread tension, if the bottom stitches is loose you have to increase the upper thread tension. Adjust accordingly till you can get a perfect straight stitch. If okay then you can continue your embroidery work.

Using a twin needle for the first time - topstitch is fine but understitch is loose - i can pull the thread and stitches come out. thank you.

Is your bobbin thread actually under tension? check that it is fully into the tension spring, it sounds like its not tensioned fully.

Normally with a twin needle you'll get a little zigzag showing on the underside but the stitches should be secure.

Sewing Machine: loose stitch that's easy to pull out.

Check that the upper and lower threading are correct. Check that the thread has tension from the bobbin case.

No bobbin tension

If the thread is loose on the bottom of the fabric, it's actually the top thread is too loose. Think of 2 little elves playing tug of war in your machine, one on toip and one underneath. If you have loops on bottom, the top needs to pull harder (tighten top tension)

Rolled hem or rolled edge

You need to disengage the cutting blade by openingfirstly opening the front and left hand side covers. pull on the larger of the two silver knobs and slide the red lever towards you. I'm not sure what the tension settings are, but I'm certain you need to reduce them a fair bit to aid in the rolling effect. I only use 3 threads when doing a rolled hem.
My description isn't too detailed but I hope it helps!

BOTTOM STITCH IS ALWAYS LOOSE

If the top stitch is loose, then you need to tighten the bobbin tension: if the bottom stitch is loose, tighten the top tension. Hope this helps. It could also be the size needle and thread you are using for a particular fabric. Different fabrics require different notions.
