which password, power on password or o/s password? if its power on password you need to reset BIOS. by removing the coin cell battery on the motherboard together with a jumper just next to the coin cell. its called CMOS. Power on the computer and all the bios settings will be reset including the passsword. if its o/s passord that is created in the control panel you need to use a software called password xp.

Call Dell for this, I work for Dell Before and the supervisors or what they call the tools to reset BIOS passwordo n your system just call dell and give them your service tagg on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop .... Dell can create a bios password to crack the passord on you bios using your sevice tag
