When the power button is pushed on either the tv or remote the red timer light next to the power button lights or flashes but the tv does not turn on.tried unplugging tv for over 24 hours to reset settings and same condition still occurred

Your problem could be the Convergence board is loading down the power supplies and will not let the TV set come on, or the power/deflection board, part number AA94-08574A, or the STR type regulator IC, part number
AA13-00105A. If you locate the convergence board, unplug the connectors, and see if the set will come on. if the set does come on, replace both of the STK convergence IC's at once. The part numbers for those IC's are STK392-40. You can get the original replacement IC's from MCM electronics for about 15 to 16 bucks a piece. Do not use the less expensive STK IC's as they are not the same. the replacement IC's should have the name of SANYO printed right on the face of the IC's. Good Luck
How do i locate a schematic of this tv? I probably know just enough to get me in trouble but i'm not in a position to hire someone to fix so it's either me or trash. I have the same problem but don't know which board is the convergence?? thanks
Hey technman, Thanks for the instructions. In my case the power did not come on after I unplugged the connectors on the convergence board. Do I need to replace both the power/deflection board and STR type regulator IC or just one of the two? Thanks, Gonzagarules

did you try new batteries in the remote? if the tv has buttons on the side and one of them being power di you try to push that? did you push tv power or cable power holding the buttons longer? those things might work.
First press on the power button on the tv remote control. if it is also not solved then i think your tv has a internal hardware problem which may be failure of some electronic components. It will be better to take it to nearest service center
When the timer light stoped flashing the remote control would not turn on the TV. The next time the light quit flashing I held the power button in on the TV for about 5 seconds and it came on and has had no problems since then with the remote or the local TV power button.
