SOURCE: 2002 Hyundai Accent lost power

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, definitely an electrical issue. Some ideas to check, consider and/or explore:

  • IGN switch - check for loose, corroded or heating connections. To test, under normal usage of the vehicle, should feel warm but not overly hot. If so, then possibly loose connection;
  • fuse/relay box - check for loose, corroded or burned terminals, holders, clips and connectors/pins. Use an electrical contact cleaner and spray. It may also be necessary to scrape to remove burnt marks/corrosion;
  • fusible link - the battery would have 2 wires connected to the + terminal. The big wire goes to the starter, the smaller of the two is the electrical systems main wire. This normally goes to the fuse/relay box. Check for frayed ends, loose connection, corroded terminals. In some instances instead of being at the battery's + terminal, it is connected to the end of the big cable down at the starter motor.
  • ALL connectors with big wires - these carry the main +12 either as always ON, ACC or IGN. If a connector has a wire bigger than the others, check them. It may be necessary to disconnect to enable you access to the inside pins/terminals. Scrape them clean.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: ESP & ABS light comming on all the time

you should have the ESC/ABS module scanned for DTC's.

here are the 2 most likely causes.

1. low brake fluid
2. sticking/siezing brake lamp switch

at the dealership i see the brake lamp switches go bad left & right on a lot of the newer hyundai's. are your brake lights working?

2018 Hyundai Sonata. The Weather 25', dropped to -1. Drove to work fine, but wouldn't start to go home. Dash, lights, radio worked fine.

Based on your description, it seems like the car's battery may have been affected by the cold weather. Cold temperatures can cause a battery to lose its charge and reduce its capacity to start the engine. When the temperature rose, the chemical reactions in the battery sped up allowing the battery to regain some of its charge.

However, there could be other reasons why your car wouldn't start. For instance, it could be due to a faulty starter or solenoid Determining that would likely take a visit to the dealership.

Clock is in military time mode. How do I reset to regular? Also I want to preset radio stations and I've lost my manual.

Here is your manual in PDF format:

http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/images/Wave%20Radio%20CD_tcm6-4104.pdf

To set AM/PM (12 hour) or Military (24 hour) time - With the system off, hold down Alarm Setup and press On/Off to switch between AM/PM (12 hour) and Military (24 hour) time formats.

To preset up to 6 AM and 6 FM stations - Use the Track/Tune buttons to find the desired station. Then, on the control panel only, hold down any Preset button until the preset number lights. The station is now preset to that number.
