Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help with your problem.

The "ringer off' message on the base display is referring to the ringer on the "base" unit not the phone ringers. Your phone handset(s) will still ring even when the base ringer turned off.

To turn the ringer on the base back on press and hold push the ^ symbol on the base until it beeps two times, To turn the base ringer off, press and hold the v symbol until the unit beeps.

If my information has proven to be of help, please give me good rating. Thanks for using FixYa!

One slight correction. To turn the ringer back on, it might work by simply pushing the ^ symbol on the base repeatedly. If my first submission doesn't work, try that. Regards!

Do you still need help or is the problem corrected. Your feedback would be appreciated.

My Panasonic ringer was off and I didn't know why. I pushed the "menu" button and all it said was "Message Play." But I figured out if you click menu and it says message play just ignore that. Click the silver 4 way button down and you will find a ringer setting. You can click down, left, right for the ringer volume. It works! An odd thing was regular volume setting (press talk and then click the silver 4 way up and down) had nothing to do with it!

Adjusting the Ringer, Earpiece and Speaker Volume

Adjusting the Ringer Volume

You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high) separately on each handset or the base.

With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level.

Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.

When you hear the ringer volume level you want to use, stop pressing keys.

The handset or base will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.

Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according

to their individual settings.

Muting the Ringer (One call only)
While the phone is ringing, press /Mute or END on the handset or on the base to mute the ringer

Good morning. I have a panasonic kz-t7625 and the ringer volume is muted. I have tried turning up the volume and it still does not ring when we receive a call. I have checked the ringer buttons in the back...

This is a guess because I only have 4 7625's in my customer base, but in an idle 7630/33/36 phone, you can press the Navigator up or down button and the ringer volume will raise or lower. In the display phones, you actually can press it down 5 times and the ringer will turn off.

Give that a try (the up arrow part).

My uniden powermax 5.8 ghz set itself to Do Not Disturb.

The do not disturb feature (DND) allows you to mute the ringer, the base, and any registered handsets at the same time. The phone must be in standby mode. Press and hold do not disturb on the base. You will hear a confirmation tone, and the DND LED illuminates. To cancel the DND feature, press do not disturb again. You can also mute the ringer tone while the phone is ringing by pressing do not disturb on the base.
Activating the DND while the answering system is off will turn the answering system on automatically. The answering system setting will reset to the original setting when you cancel the DND.
If you press answer on/off when the DND and the answering system is on, both of the DND and the answering system will turn off.
To mute the ringer tone temporarily for each handset or the base, when the phone is ringing, press the MUTE soft key on the handset or the base. The ringer tone will return to the previous setting starting with the next incoming call.

  2. Press PROG. You should hear a single short beep.
  3. Press #.  You should hear a single short beep.
  4. Press a number 1 through 4. You should hear a long "ring" tone (it might be startling!). You can try other numbers from 1 to 4 to hear them all.
