This continues until all the cold water drains into the heater tank. So the brew is matched volume per volume. UNLESS the tank was empty or not filled prior to brewing. The Axiom uses a water level probe to keep the heater tank filled with water at a set level. The hot water facet takes water directly from the top of the tank. It's gravity fed with only the weight of the top portion of the water (the hottest area) to flow into the faucet. It is possible that your faucet 'Boot' or spring is bad and needs replacement. But it's designed to give you a single cup of hot water. Do not expect to fill a pot (or large french press) with this faucet.

PS, Check the pots in the office. Make sure they are all the same size. Decanters come in 3 sizes; 10 cup, 12 cup (standard), and 3L (3 litters). Check the decanter brand as each brand is a bit different in size. All metal decanters are usually very small (8 cup). What ever size you use, just make sure they are all the same.
If your talking about the hot water faucet the flow rate can't be adjusted.There may be a blockage from lime at the tank fitting.You will need to clean fitting of lime.
These tanks can't actually be overfilled since all water poured in displaces the exact same amount of water coming out the spout. So, whatever amount of water you pour in, will be the same amount of water that flows to your pot minus the amount absorbed by the coffee grounds and filter.
Your problems sounds like an undersized (Non Bunn) filter, or clogged brew basket. To verify this, try pouring in only half the water for your brew cycle and wait for it to finish dripping, then pour in the rest. If no overflow has occurred, you simply have the wrong type of filter. If overflow begins again, you have a clogged brew basket, since no Bunn can flow too fast for the brew basket to keep up with it.
This is because Bunn filters are manufactured differently than generic store bought paper filters. They will flow faster, brew cleaner and stand up better than normal generic filters. Remember, Bunn makes their OWN filters for good reason. They made the first, best paper filters for drip coffee pots, and all others are just generic dioxin gas producing paper.
Remove the bottom kick plate . Follow the plastic line about 6" and you'll find a connector . Push in on one end of the connector and at the same time , pull the line out . Close the door and press for water . If no water comes out of the disconnented line , the water valve is probably bad . If water does come out , the line inside the freezer door is frozen . If this turns out to be so , you can lower the freezer temp for maybe days , or , put the food on the door, inside the freezer , tape the light switch down ( to keep the lite off and fan running ) and tape plastic over the freezer door opening so the freezer will continue to work . Reinstall the line back into the connector by pushing the hose firmly into place . Leave the freezer door open for maybe 1 or 2 days for thawing out , going by ocassionally and pressing the water dispensor . Important : lower the freezer temperature slightly to keep line from freezing again . ONLY CHANGE THE FILTER WHEN WATER FLOW SLOWS OR ICE CUBES GET SMALL . The change filter lite comes on by the amount of times water dispensor is used and to make money for the vendor .
either the valveis faulty or the dispenser box is blocked, remove the internal hose from the valve anf see if you have full pressure at that point if yes box is blocked.
