Double vision with a lot of yellow color

In your tv the image is generated this way: the bulb makes the light; that light is reflected by a panel with a lot of tiny mirrors which generates a black/white image; that image goes thru a set of colored disks on a wheel that rotates which gives the image color; that image goes thru a set of lenses (called the image engine) and it's projected on the screen.
No convergence here - you see the fuzzy image because either the color wheel isn't aligned properly or (more likely) the lenses in the image engine are deformed.
The second one can't be fixed and replacing the lenses will cost more than the tv is worth. You might be able to realign the wheel, but this must be done by someone with a lot of experience and it will be costly.

IT SOUNDS LIKE A PINCUSHION PROBLEM. IN MOST CASES IT IS DUE TO CAPACITORS GOING BAD ON THE BOARD. OTHER TIMES SOME TV'S HAVE LARGE MICROCHIPS THAT RUN THE PINCUSHION AND COLOR SYNC. HOPE THAT HELPS.

sounds like the sensors are out of focus and your red sensor isnt turning on. look in the back of the tv for a master reset button or in your menu screen some sort of "Flash focus" or "convergence". They will realign the 3 sensors.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

you will need to have the tv re converged to make the picture right call a repairman

Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?
