Are SD lots HC compatible? I have SD slots on my computer, however they were not HC compatible so I had to buy another SDHC reader just to use that card.

How can I get the card reader to recognize sdhc cards

It's not your card reader, the SDHC mini firmware is dead that's why your reader cannot detect it. Warranty, return it to SanDisk for a new one. New sandisk 8 gb sd card reports memory error when inserted in camera. other cards work in camera. card is recognized by laptop. tried reformatting by Vista

There are no 8GB SD cards. Cards this size are SDHC (High Capacity). SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

SD800 no longer recognized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best solution for SDHC is a high speed card reader.
One that hooks up via Firewire.
Some of the compatible cameras with the higher capacity, faster cards are not recognized when connected to the computer... great work around and downloads are quicker too.

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 Hardware trouble after downgrading from Vista to XP.

You can download the drivers directly from Acer.

http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/webpage.cfm?siteid=7293&areaid=7&website=AcerPanAm.com/us

Just choose "drivers and downloads"
Then "notebook"
Then "Aspire 9300"

On the right window, you will see available drivers. Once you highlight each one, you will see what operating system it is for in the "download details" window.

Acer Vista Lap Top Won't Recognize USB Flash Drives

If Acer screwed up fixing your problem the first time (and it's evident that they did) they are obligated to fix it a second time, and if they cant, they are obligated to replace your laptop.
